Madness at the Sheffield Arena tonight. Great performance as always, but I have to say I'm not massively keen on some of their new stuff!

Bought two new records last week, both excellent. The new one by The Smile (as close to Radiohead as it’ll ever be now I fear) and The Last Dinner Party’s debut LP.

I very much enjoy selling copies of his vinyl, the brown version especially. The auctions reach silly prices! I put one on and really liked it.

Saw him last year in Nottingham. Didn’t really know him but went and really enjoyed.

The green one fetches good money too 😂

Just received my 50th anniversary version of Dark Side Of The Moon on 2 clear vinyl albums. Doesn't seem like 50 years when I saw them perform the album live at Wembley. Got me thinking what was the best encore I ever witnessed. One was Zeppelin and Stairway to Heaven which was great. However the one that stands head and shoulders above anything was Dave Gilmore and Comfortably Numb. The light show, the song plus the greatest guitar solo ever IMO. I wished I could have seen him perform it with Bowie. Aren't memories wonderful? What was yours?

Off to see Robert Plant with his new band at the Royal Albert Hall next month - a charity concert that also has Roger Daltrey, Pete Townshend, Eddie Vedder and Paul Weller. Going to see The Who the week before for same charity..... the last year that Roger D is curating the week of events so should be a great time.... and a great cause.

Best encore? Inxs Kick Tour , 1988 I think could be 87. Birmingham NEC. Finished with Dont Change. Unbelievable.

I went to the Dave Gilmore live in Pompeii gig in 2016 and that Comfortably Numb solo still stays with me maybe my fave solo ever.... i still watch it on youtube now and am still amazed by it. 4-5 mins of pure class.

True but those that followed were at the best average and some absolute rubbish. Not forgetting that sheer heart attack had one of the worst tracks ever. Bring back Leroy brown
