I could say black is white on twitter - wouldnt make it true. But I could put enough sh 1 t after my name to make it sound credible, so I would partially agree - just because it is on social media doesnt make it unreliable, but it certainly doesnt make it true!

Perhaps another category would be just as apt 'I wasn't thinking'

Left wing Scottish leader momentarily forgetting to mask-up makes front page of the Sun.

In the same way daytripping Dom's eyetesting excursion, well, didn't...

Thought we'd revisit this thread in light of this: https://www.theguard...-bbc-world-news

A despicable attempt to silence a perennial light of truth in the world. One which arguably shone brightest during the dark days when Nazism threatened to overwhelm Europe.

However we should take no crocodile tears from the massed forces of the right wing media who've spent decades undermining the BBC themselves. Whether it's Murdoch's various minions, those others funded by multi-millionaires with vested interests or a tory party that spent more time belittling the Beeb than addressing the emerging pandemic last spring there's been a concerted attempt to at best dilute, and at worst dismantle the jewel of British broadcasting.

Starting by withdrawing the licence fee - in other words privatising it.

If former BBC employee Andrew Neil (who somehow escaped the censorship meted out to the likes of Gary Lineker despite editing a 'Spectator' carrying some pretty vile views) wants to start a new right wing channel then fine, no problem. Same applies to Teresa May's former media man. However it's surely vital to keep the bastion of balanced and independent broadcasting that's a public funded BBC...

Not for the first time the British media win today's award with comfortable ease.

Because the same characters casually telling us 'Move along, nothing to see here' when tory home secretary Priri Patel was found guilty of bullying staff...

..are tying their underwear into all sorts of knots over allegations Megan Markle might've done the same.

And whilst yesterday it was somehow disgusting to do interviews whilst old Phil Windsor's badly, it's perfectly okay to have his grandson's missus trashed today.

The ginger royal and his wife are hypocrites themselves. But a Fleet Street who've repeatedly applies vastly different standards to them and their in-laws are by far the world's worst...

Aaaaand a huge round of applause for today's hypocrite of the day.....Alexender Boris DePiffle Johnson!

He's added his voice to the outraged tantrums of the Mail, Express, Telegraph et al after veteran journalist Roy Greenslade revealed a long term support for the IRA.

Okay, fair enough, there's an adult discussion to be had over the legitimate cause of a united Ireland (which Bozo's made far more likely with his border between NI and the mainland, by the way), yet surely no decent person could ever defend bombing innocent civilians.

Hold on a minute, though - didn't 'honest' Johnson himself place someone in the 'Lords who'd done exactly that? Yeah, only last year he handed a seat to the same Clare Fox who described the Birmingham, Brighton and Warrington bombings as 'the right of the Irish people to carry out their struggle for national liberation'. One of countless apologistic comments from the former Revolutionary Communist Party member.

So why this latest in a long and sickening list of shameless double standards from the blond bumbler? Well Fox is an ardent Brexiter whilst Greenslade, errr, isn't.

Surprise, surprise, surprise...

The British media are the gift that keep on giving.

They're going through the roof with indignant fury at Harry and Megan Windsor seeking publicity - but dedicating hours of programmes and miles of print to covering it themselves!

'And all whilst old Phil Windsor lays ill in hospital', the constant refrain. So here's an idea - don't effin' add to it, then!

But of course the same old battle lines are being drawn.

I guarantee the characters who always add a 'but' to their claims of being against racism will pile into the mixed race woman now alleging racism. How dare she criticise the royal family - doesn't she realise they're whiter than white!?

Errr...

Well the fact they think they get more clicks from this than the nurses pay discussions is perhaps telling...

Personally I think its all planned to keep Andrew's plight from the front pages....

TBF I don’t think the British press had a lot to do with timing of the operas Winfrey interview to overlap with the nurses pay scandal.
A new hope.

Well the Daily Hiel leads the race (ist) for today's award.

Probably the worst example of the prejudice the two runaway royals are referencing once more heaping all the blame on them.

Surprise...surprise...surprise...

And managing to crowbar Lizzy Windsor's advanced years into it's hysterical headlines in another desperate attempt to court hatred.

Totally disregarding any impact their screams of scandal have on the ninety summat year old.

But that Harry lad says one thing no one can argue with: ' The UK isn't inherently bigoted and biased - but it's main source of information is!'.

It's not.

Is this even up for debate? Facebook and twitter are cesspools of political disinformation.

Easy peasy today - it's every columnist and contributor and pundit and presenter and writer and ranter who plasters the media with claims...

..they're being somehow silenced.

They're being denied a voice.

They're not allowed to say the very things they spend day after day shouting from the rooftops.

And whilst everyone has a right to speak, what about folks' right to choose who they listen to?

Infact I'm sick to the back teeth of hearing from those supposedly being 'cancelled'...

Daft.

But it's being discussed on LBC, it'll no doubt elicit all sorts of hysterical squeals in the Mail abd Sun and Telegraph and Express and you've freely posted it on here.

So hey, thanks for emphasising my point...

Bump.

Thread revived to pay tribute to a regular contestant on here - Andrew Peirce.

And his latest double dealing?

Well the same bloke whose paper published a headline vilifying high court judges as "Enemies of the People" - a screaming accusation likened to Nazi propaganda by many ( https://www.independ...e-a7409836.html ) - today expressed disgust at SAGE members being harassed.

Despite being one of the loudest cheerleaders against pandemic protocols, too.

What next - smugly declaring the Dominic Cummins he championed post day-trip now somehow discredited?

Errr, hold on a minute...
