Pembo said last night that we were after a player whose agent wanted for him £1500 a week and a house for his family. He has apparently signed for another national League club. He also raised concern of some wage demands from some players who are currently not with a club.

Sounds like we dodged a bullet with that one. Who does he think he is demanding a house, as well as a very good wage for this level! Too many greedy players in this game sadly.

The rent paid for monthly is the obvious answer, but 6 grand a month for a player is too much anyway at this level.

If Klopp thinks he’s good enough to start for Liverpool I’d be absolutely staggered if he thought he’d learn much playing at our level as opposed to League One or Two.

You could offer your west wing to house players for the club.

Available possibly, to a lower National League club?? Probably not!

As WB says above, massive shop window for him tonight so you’d imagine he might have suitors well above our level.

Not sure I recall Liverpool sending any players on loan outside the EFL recently.

I am sure CPS knows better given his job but a friend of a friend knows a guy who is ex Barnet, now FGR, and he wanted rent paying for house - who wants leaving with a contract commitment on a rental if club sells you or terminates your contract? Leave the liability with the club if you move on, not unreasonable in those terms.

Maybe the problem was the £1500 a week (which is £78k a year) with I assume bonuses for wins etc.....but apparently part time players in league below want £2k a week to compensate for going full time so maybe he was really a bargain!

In the CFSS days the fans set up the players fund, nothing to stop us doing so again. Not saying we should pay over the odds but we can do our bit to help the club out.

Young Rhys would certainly get plenty of defensive practice playing for Town

I lived on Swaddale Ave Tapton as a youngster. The club owned 2 houses at the time.Dave Pugh and Keith Stott lived next door to each other in those 2 houses early seventies.Billy Mcewan and John Turner the goalie also lived in the house whilst playing for town. Keith Stott remained in that house until he passed away ,he must have purchased it from the club at some time. The other house was obviously also sold at some time. That solved the problem of players having to find a house at the time.

I believe, once upon a time, the Club owned a number of houses on Saltergate backing on to the main stand.

Thought it was Compton Street also had one at Walton where Shaun O'Neil resided?
