Cat Bar at the Stadium of Light and pretending to be a Mackems fan.
A story from a couple of weeks ago.
Walked into Town after a terrific afternoon of Northern Soul at the St Helens and bumped into a mate who'd been to the Liverpool game. We discussed what'd happened then, remembering our little neighbours had played that afternoon, I asked what'd happened.
'Lost on penalties...' came a voice from over our shoulder, quickly followed by the single word '..gutted'.
Looking 'round there was a lad at the bus stop, so thinking he was being sarcastic we laughed and said 'Honestly? At home to chuffin' Newport?'...
..only for him to not only confirm the result, but he was some sort of Staglet.
Who, bizarrely, had decided to come into Town when his supposed team were playing. Worse still he'd stood in a Chesterfield pub publicly supporting that same side.
Which I guess was why he was subsequently sat there with a bruised face and probably broken arm.
For what it's worth we did the decent thing and advised him to get checked out at the Royal. But in keeping with his daft decisions of the earlier afternoon he was more intent on just getting back to North Notts.
So pretending to be a Mackem at theirs' seems the height of intelligence by comparison...

No but I didn't celebrate. Bent down to tie up my red Hummel trainers just after the match and straightened up to see a 3-year-old in full kit waving his fist right in my face. Poor lad must have been gutted, and associated my (poor choice of) footwear with the Charlton kit.
Odd to celebrate an opening goal which the cameras pretty much missed, but enough Charlton defenders scored at the right end to make it a fair result.

Didn’t realise Bennet was on the pitch until he walked off at half time, surely they should be fielding better than him?
Great looking header until the replay showed it came off his back

Very similar but Shaw’s general play looks slightly more effective than Bennet for the respective clubs
2-1, Derby look better since Marriott and Waghorn came on

Wonder when he’ll finally get found out - what is his starting position - baffling from Lampard - the comparison with Shaw is uncanny

Not going up is no bad thing for Derby really. It's not all it's cracked up to be.

I reckon Derby would have been just as successful as the last time they went up even with ‘silver spoon in his mouth’ Lampard at the helm.
