The term 'game management' has been brought into sharper focus by the actions/admissions of a certain individual lately, but I've hated it ever since it emerged.... I had originally thought of it as playing smartly for the context, for example playing possession football when ahead, but now (in our league especially) it is too often a euphemism for "time -wasting, with a connotation of exploiting officials' weaknesses".
I also notice that younger, supposedly more progressive coaches always refer to their players as 'the group'- not something I can dislike too much as Sean Dyche does it and I'm a huge fan of his, but I've noticed it gaining credence.
