He was always looking towards the referee as he fell to the floor :windup

I suspect that the ref was thinking he perhaps had to make up for the penalty he gave the Moors. From one angle, Spearing seems to first toe poke the ball away from the attacker, who promptly kicks him and falls over.

And to think our household is one spireite and one Sunderland fan...it’s been a depressing few years football wise!!

It could be worse. You could both be Spireites.
These go to eleven.

O'Donnell was not really a surprise....he was a very good keeper and we couldnt really carry him and Tommy. He was on a one year deal and he wasnt so much released as both parties agreed he would move on somewhere he could play 1st team football on a regular basis.

Chapman was the one who we could now have as our permanant keeper

when he was released the gamble was that Tommy would come back to full fitness which meant that Chapman would not be required as backup

Walsall Wood FC have just anounced the signing of "Ex-Wolves Goal machine Sylvan Ebanks-Blake"

preumably, just the name-sake of the shot-shy striker we used to have.

I wonder if our rearranged match at Barnet has any chance of live BT sport coverage if you know who is back in charge there?

That's quite a commitment for them to make, especially with a player who has a history of not doing it for long at any one club.
These go to eleven.

Yes, similarly to how Belper gave George Milner a contract when Matlock and others were offering him deals.
Milner scored three minutes into the New Year today as Belper trounced Gresley 5-1 away, with the Moatmen's manager quitting after the match. Milner continues to look a class above that level.
These go to eleven.

Apparently Westcarr did little today in the 2-0 home defeat by Gainsborough. I think Malcolm Marshall is the one they should be tying down.

It seems they are finally showing some ambition, I suspect Dennis Hobson is investing more than his time.

George could well prove to be one that got away.

The Westcarr deal makes perfect sense, hes scored a bucket load since coming in to what was a very poor side in October and despite interest from elsewhere, wanted to stay at Matlock while twinning his job of working in a school. I dont think at our level that you're going to find a better out and out finisher and having him as a player that you know you can build your team around is always a plus. Hes an interesting chap Craig, usually when a player drops in to non league who has played at a good level and scored a winner at Wembley then they can be quite arrogant but Westy is just an easy going guy who clearly just loves his football and he goes out of his way to make time to talk to everybody, always a laugh to interview as well.

Marshall is already tied down from the start of the season but I dont recall us ever going in for Milner and he didn't do much against us in the DSC so the interest wasnt from us as we already have four strikers.we had an off day but that's only two defeats in sixteen under a manager who took us over at the bottom of the table.
