How can anyone with access to a search engine and half a brain uncover more than the supposed guardians of our club?

Hold on a minute: 'After five months of negotiations'?

But didn't Biggs, or was it Carson say these were a new mob? Nowt to do with the Brealey who supposedly shook hands on a deal sometime after Xmas? And why the big song and dance about Allen returning, backing this manager and only selling when the Club returns to the EFL if takeover talks were happening?

You couldn't make it up. But on second thoughts...

I dont think they're stupid, they knew exactly who they were going into business with & who is behind offers. Is it Allens favoured choice of new owners because he knows it'll fail and that he'll be back to claim what hes always wanted from our club? Hence the "first charge" comments.

Are his actual reasons for rebuffing other offers because he is worried they may actually succeed?

The one thing I know is they continually underestimate how intelligent the fans are.

I hope the penny has finally dropped with DA and he realises the attractiveness and value of the club will increase if it's well run.

I suppose it all boils down to who you have in your address book and on speed dial.

It's interesting that the hierarchy let the identity of the consortium slip out in to the public domain in the first instance, given their silence on some of the potential deals that have been mooted elsewhere. Who'd have thought the support might Google names that had leaked out...

First rule of being an arrogant egotistical businessman - if you can’t make it a success then don’t sell to someone who might, either sell to someone who won’t (if they offer stupid money) or do a deal so you aren’t giving them what you had to weigh the odds a bit. I work for one so I know. If it’s worth £20m, ask for £30m. If they offer £30m, find a reason to drive it up to £35m - they will either walk away or extra debt will reduce chances of success...

In this case it may be that Allen (M) got one over by threatening to walk - and of course Allen (D) May have found the ability to sell the reduced as we are so near to season start, or it may be that he has realised that new owners with Allen M may have succeeded,

Either way, my diary doesn’t know what is happening as I am arranging things for opening weekend and the cancelling them again so I can make the match...

Could be down to the fact that Allen is stubborn and won’t sell to the local consortium cause they might lift up the carpets

I'm pleased the takeover has fallen through, I just hope DA doesn't spook MA into leaving with all the talk of selling the club and appointing a Director of Football. I thought DA said in that Peak FM interview that he wasn't selling until we are back in the EFL or until the end of this season? and he had appointed MA to take us into the Championship? Time for DA to make his intentions clear. One of the reasons I bought my season ticket was because I thought there would be some stability until the end of the season. I wonder how many season tickets we would have sold if the fans had a whiff of that takeover?

MA is a diamond, it was the first time I saw him last night and he is like having another player on the pitch, constantly barking orders at the players and encouraging the crowd. You can put our goal last night down to him, when we got the corner he was running up and down the sidelines encouraging the crowd to cheer.

The original MA statement just went back up on the official site: https://www.chesterf...eover-collapse/

Was it pulled originally because Cashley wanted to have the first word on it, I wonder?
These go to eleven.
