Ended up in the DC Jones lounge today, enjoying hospitality (freebie obviously - excellent food, as always and a decent experience, despite everything) and seeing some the staff pamper to David Lilley brought many a smile to my face. I did however, draw the line, when Nicks wife lead a chorus of "Happy Birthday to you" for him amongst the other 150+ guests in the lounge.

One point worth mentioning, though, was that on my table was a young Spireite celebrating his 9th birthday, and between courses he ventured in to the centre lounge in an attempt to catch a selfie with Ched Evans. Not only did Ched allow him to interrupt his main course, but he also bought the lad £5 worth of 50/50 tickets (which he gave to his mum).
I know not a major thing, but he could have easily been annoyed at being interrupted whilst eating (especially as his partner and young child was with him) and simply brushed the boy off after a rushed photo and autograph, but he didn't.

Excellent to know that Ched did the right thing.........good on him.

Agreed. And it goes some of the way to making up for the fact that he might have played a fruit machine on the SAME DAY we played a game of football! The swine.

I treat them with the contempt they deserve, take no notice of their names. When a man takes offence and bans someone for having the audacity to call him a 'whimp' then I'm afraid he is a whimp. He was having a right old moan about swearing within the ground. Who would have thought it? Swearing at a football match. How dare they?

Y'know 'Fishi', there's an old lass that sits near me who often wears ear defenders - industrial standard, no less - and get's her knickers in a right twist at the merest hint of a profanity.

Infact those of us in the area often smile to one another at her antics, which also include wearing a stop-watch around her neck to time games to the second.

She's the same lass who, despite everything that'd happened at November's aborted AGM, stood and shrieked indignation because she'd been denied an opportunity to complain about folk using e-cigs in the West Stand.

I reckon she'd fit right in with this Enid Blyton-esque 'Facebook' thing...

She is sometimes the only source of entertainment in that area, certainly recently.

I once hadthe audacity to sit on the same row as her (she sits on the end yet bemoans anyone who wants to get past her!) and asked, politely to get by her around 2/3 minutes before HT. She didn't move for a second, tutted, mumbled something under her breath about people not sitting and watching the match. Despite being a placid person normally, I reacted, turned to her and said "sorry for needing a urine!!" Her face was a picture, and her ever suffering husband just looked away. Her continual and usually audible bemoaning of anyone who dare use even the mildest profinity around her is comical, though.

If he'd taken the ball home from the Proact a few times, we might have got some better results

According to the Facebook pussies he left because of all the criticism he was getting when he was doing his best for the club. I seem to think the said criticism was coming from BB members and not from the FB toohats

Sorry Fish. I was referring to a picketing incident I think it was cadley hill but memories are dimming, where a certain police inspector was marshalling his officers and had a pointing stick which he was directing them with this sick full of self importance and was pointing out certain individuals in the picketing rabble. Someone from said rabble snatched the said pointing stick from the aghast inspector and proceeded to snap it in half. Thought it was you!

Genuine question, which medium is the one that has genuine concerns and dare voice them and which is the one wanting massage Carsons ego and appear to be part of the in crowd?

To be honest Mr M there aren't many sycophants left on the Facebook page either; I think the BB members on that forum have 'opened a few eyes' let's say, hence Carson throwing the dummy out and leaving the group.
