At least we're not the only audience for his deluded ramblings.

Les do you really think a youngster (or his parents) who have to pay to join an academy has a chance of making it over kids in established genuine academies where they are there on merit ?

Having worked at a couple of Premier league clubs, i can say there is almost zero chance of that happening.

I've seen kids go through the academy to the reserves, get loaned out lower league clubs, then be ditched and end up in none league or out of football all together. Obviously, some end up getting professional contracts in the lower leagues. These players are trained in top facilities by top class coaches.

In the last two years, I've seen one lad make it to the first team (minimal appearances).

They also operate the same international structure which costs a fair whack; none of them make it.

Oh I thought it was all in one small building?
With the same staff?
With same equipment?
With same end product
Under same umbrella

But I never stated any particular academy, I stated he came from it?

Tendayi was part of Notts County's academy and when it folded he came to Chesterfield with Jordan Bowery, Craig Clay (and maybe others). They played in the Youth Team coached by Dave Bentley and Mark Jules - grasping at straws if Turner and friends think they can take much credit for the development of this group.

Same experience here-most of the lads at these pay type academies are sold a distant dream of still being a footballer.
Most are not the brightest sparks and cling to any guff the likes of Liam Sutckiffe and his ilk throw at them.

Terrible really but it's keeping that age group off the dole for a couple of years I guess.

If any player gets near a first team league club I'll eat Southstandnige's pork pie hat

Go and look at the whole topic and then post

Had a look.

It seems that in a short space of time you said TD was a product of the academy. Then when corrected, you said he was from Chesterfield and that was good enough. Then when pressed further you said everyone else was talking bull-shoite so you should be able to.

I think that pretty much covers it!

I've not used Club taxis since his rant about none of us being able to have a say. Hardly earth shattering for them but I'll stick to my guns.

So why ask the question?

I suppose if it helps fund an academy that has brought players through to the first team it's worth it, if it doesn't put promising players off joining/staying

It's surprising and disappointing what people will do, especially when kids and hardworking parents are involved.

Youth team is nothing to do with the development school or international academy .
