You mention him in a bitter way all the time. I appreciate it hurt you when he left but I think it's time you moved on.

It didn't hurt me he left, it happens all the time in football, it hurt me the two faced way he did it..running out and clapping us at Preston, arguably the biggest game since the FA cup semi final, then laughing on the touch line with their manager..eff him..eff him big time.

So would I. Funny people seem happy that it's not going all cooks way down there but we aren't exactly pulling up any trees. Don't really think we are in any position to be gloating.

You must be very pure indeed

I think it is quite natural for the less pure to take pleasure in other peoples difficulties when you yourself are struggling, especially when you are not too keen on them.

That is certainly the case with Portsmouth (and to a lesser extent PC) as far as I'm concerned.

Not an attractive emotion I grant you

Firstly I don't get what PC did wrong and secondly I ain't a guy who's gonna laugh at someone when they aren't having the best of times especially when we are probably having an even worse time. It doesn't make me pure it makes me not deluded.

Ah the deluded word again, that is very popular word tonight but totally out of context again

Now if you said bitter and twisted, that would be more accurate

Find something more meaningful to hate on than somebody moving on to better his career at a more illustrious club.

Would be my rate good advice

I hope you and others remember that advice if Mansfield pass us next year. On the other hand we haven't got anyone like Clucas to pinch so it might not be too bad

I'd have him back now. In fact I'd put him up in my house on my settee until he found somewhere to stay.

He preached loyalty when he already knew, as did most others, he was going. He gave us a great season and then deflated, before it even kicked off, what was one of the biggest games in our history because of all the speculation surrounding him. He would have earned more respect from most of us if he had simply been honest.

So what? The simple fact is that he got it spot on, on the pitch and that's all that matters.

He seems to have got his decision to leave spot on as well. He knew this was going to happen so who can blame him for wanting out.

Nah , I'm just not bothered that he mentioned loyalty in a pub full of town fans. He wasn't going to say anything else was he. He left because this clubs in a mess and who can blame him.

Personally I've no issue with cook leaving...what I didn't like was the way he went about doing it whilst we were trying to get promoted. If the talk is correct he was trying to engineer a way out as early as October then going on about loyalty at the bridge inn. He also seemed to try and tap up some players to go with him. Roberts made it clear he wasn't staying after last season whilst he seemed to be trying to take the likes of Ryan and morsy as well.

Whatever you think of cook and how he left, in footballing terms it seems he is currently underachieving at Portsmouth, on a very generous budget.
Also it's interesting that my Portsmouth supporting friends keep banging on about the same things no plan B and his team can't defend set pieces.
Maybe Cook will come good down there or move on and have success elsewhere, or maybe his time here was his perfect storm where everything came together for him, time will tell I suppose.
If you do what you always do, you'll get what you always get.

Interesting snippet from Evatt during Player commentary yesterday to the effect that PC didn't work on attacking free-kicks in training, but that had all changed when DS took over. I appreciate that we had lots of other strings to our bow under PC, but I'm not sure why any manager would neglect free-kicks, especially when some of our players were so adept at winning them around the opposition's box.
