Where did you hear this 40% figure from?

It was me who asked the question on Monday and although CT didn't give exact figures he did stipulate that the Darikwa sell on was a a large percentage. But until anything actually happens I guess we'll not know.

I've never heard of a 40% sell on. 20% would be 'large' in the context of sell on clauses.

If Turnip got a 40% sell on I'd doff my cap to him and never call him a root vegetable again

Possibly. Now you mention Cooper easy to see circumstances where it might apply. Hull could dictate but we couldn't with only Preston the other club in the frame and offering half the money. No way would Burnley offer 40% sell on.

Two points...
It would seem at this stage to largely irrelevant
Although the fee was a bit disappointing for him, we weren't giving away Darikwa (although their is mention of an undisclosed for for O'Neil)

O'Neill was a free transfer (same source).
Did we learn 'owt about O'Neill yesterday?. My impression was that he was steady, but did nowt wrong.

Agree. Didn't play bad for me and I wouldn't write him off just yet. On the other hand my mind is now made up about Herd. I'll leave the rest for the new man to sort out - he might get another gear out of some of them. He has to !

If O'Neil was a free transfer then it contradicts what was on the main site but I sincerely hope he was
Different proposition to Cooper though, who clearly had significant potential from the word go. O'Neil not so.
I wouldn't be surprised at a 40% sell on for those two as they were essentially giveaways. I suppose some cynics would say that about Darikwa as well, but this 40% sell on for him appears to be speculation. Nice if it's true

He looked to me yesterday as though he kept testing himself to accelerate past people, but it was beyond him. Perhaps like Jamie Lowry, his injury has done him in.

My MOTM (well for us anyway). I thought he looked strong, tackled and used the ball well, and put in some excellent crosses. On that showing imo he looked a very good prospect indeed.

I'd agree with you there. He put a few good crosses in as well. One, I believe, was with his left foot and set up Jones to miss. Defensively, none of the goals were down to him if I recall correctly whilst the first two came from the left side of our defence - first one Ariyibi's was in LB role with Jones way out of position and second one Evatt got caught out in LB role, again where was Jones?
Now Jones is out I wonder if either O'Neil or Donahue are up to the task. As I said above O'Neil did use his left peg yesterday whilst Donahue is left-footed and we really do need to work out if he is worth keeping or releasing as I believe he is on a 6 month contract which is up in January.
If either of these can tide us over it would be good and if Drew is actually fit he can come in at RB meaning we have 3 players for 2 full back positions. Oh! And then there is that lad from New Zealand!!!
