A weaker side on a higher wage, which is... worrying. For me.

In my opinion a weaker league, NO Bristol City or MK, plus Notts Co at this stage of last season were above us.

Cant remember who it was, DA or CT but they said the wage budget has increased. I'd find the interview but... who's got time for that?

And you'd take anything the said at face value.

Has to be a first time for everything

I would hope Herd, SEB and Martinez came with massive price reductions. I suppose all the contract extensions handed out may have contributed

Far weaker this season. Also no Preston and, moreover, no Swindon stacked with loanees from Chelsea and Liverpool. Definitely a good chance one of the less glamorous clubs will secure a promotion place this season.

Surely you don't think SEB, Neill, Martinez,Herd are on mor money than Roberts, Ryan,Clucas , Darikwa,Doyle???

Most of the rest of the squad is still here from last season with all bar two having signed new deals in the summer, all of which will have been on better terms (maybe with the exception of Drew and Ritchie) so just by keeping the same players, the budget will have gone up.

Turnip said the budget would be the highest in the clubs history.

I have my doubts, as I had my doubts about the wage bill for the last 2 seasons and Turnips assertion that the club were trading in the black.

A new hope.

Just to add, with today's news of two players moving out, wouldn't surprise me to see someone join tomorrow on loan, and be in the squad for Saturday...

Assume you mean Fitzwater returning from his loan?

It's definitely weaker at the top end of the table this season. I hope it isnt stronger at the bottom end. Cant help but think that we would have been nailed on for promotion with last season's squad and manager plus a decent striker (and maybe a left sided CB).

Think he means needing 2 to replace Armand, one to lead the line and one to head away corners and free kicks

That was arguably one of Armand's strengths

Indeed that is whey I said it, I guess it is a different skill when you can attack the ball rather than having to stand up top doing something with a ball dropping from 100 feet

A lesson we never learned when attempting to utilise him I'm afraid

Didn't help that he was utterly useless either, though. That was quite a big part of him not making any type of impact.

You are a sad sad tedious little man, who get's off by belittling certain players.
Do yourself a favour and try to look for a positive now and again.

I'm sure that if you did people would not think you are such a c@ck like they do now.

Another striker? With Novak to come back? If so Lavery would be a good call

Lavery has apparently made up with Calvahal and is training with the first team again.

Whether he gets a chance or not though, the striking options they have is another matter.

He's been in the N Irish squad this season so now will be keener than ever to play first team football with the possibility of going to the Euro's in the summer.

Cooky has been trying to get him down there, but he doesn't want to move from his family.

Dave Allen’s eagerness to cash in has had a negative impact on this season and the consequences of that are the vast majority of decent players that were available have already been snapped up prior to us selling ours. We’ve been left with the cast offs and the injury prone. Expecting our fringe players to suddenly make the grade is delusional at best. We now have a sub-standard squad that the manager is struggling to get the best out of. His tactics don’t suit the players at his disposal and I am fearful that the best we can hope for this season is survival.
If only....
