If the rumoured 750/850k figure is substantiated, I almost wish I was right with my 'undisclosed' prediction!
For, if true, it must flag us up to all and sundry that we are complete push-overs when it comes to negotiating transfer fees. If I were the board or whoever was in charge of this farce, I wouldn't want anyone to know that we sold the country's top scorer for what amounts to peanuts!
What irks me as much is that we didn't actually need to sell at all. Why not hang on to him to the end of the season in the hope that he can fire us to the Championship, thus probably increasing his value (could it get any lower?), securing increased gate receipts and FL money. How short-sighted are we? This just proves to me that we have no ambition.
Absolutely disgusted.
Totally agree. Definitely the most stupid decision I've witnessed as a CFC supporter. What some on here are ignoring is the fact that WE DIDN'T HAVE TO SELL AT THIS POINT TO ANYONE FOR ANY PRICE !!! Apart from the distinct possibility that ED would have been worth more at the end of the season, has anyone at the club considered the negative impact on the rest of the team, our play - off chances, attendances, and season ticket sales? The amount of income sacrificed by this idiotic move will probably make the laughable transfer fee look like peanuts in a few months time. Absolutely diabolical, pointless, and suicidal decision making.
