The club said on the website around 4000 a couple of weeks ago. I take that as between 3900 and 4100 and I can't see many more being sold now, can you?

Think the average price might be a bit high as well.

One thing fore sure is that if DA is putting funds into just keep the club afloat as reported just after receiving all that season ticket money, there is only one way this is heading.

I don't actually believe it though and it is probably derived from more loose talk by CT. Here's hoping anyway, and if it is then it's time to get rid of him.

I took the ST sales figure from the Derbyshire TImes yesterday, which I'm sure said that the sales were now over 4,500 but yes, the average price is just a guess really.

Agree with you that it might be more loose talk from CT .... But I find it beyond belief that CT or anyone else can expect the fan base to believe there is some kind of cash flow problem given the huge sums received from the ST sales.

.... and yes .... IF it is true, then there has to be something VERY wrong with how the clubs finances are being managed ! .... But surely not, or is there something else we don't know about ? .... Nah, surely not.

Edit : Is it true that we don't actually employ a Finance Director now that Alan Walters has retired last November ? ... If not, WHY not !
It seems that we desperately need someone in that role who has his finger on the pulse on a weekly / monthly basis.

He had better not, the Vatman's share is 16.66% of the gross, 20% of the net. He has overpaid the Vatman by about £40,000 on the season ticket sales. ;)

Heard a belter today!

A few people saying that Turner took delivery of a new Merc last week. Does anyone know if it's a company car, his own or sponsored? Whichever way, you couldn't make the timing up, I think I'd have postponed delivery!

Well, it's a guess, yes .... But what do you think the ST sales amount to ? I stand to be corrected here.

Anyway .... The point I am making is that the club has received AN AWFUL LOT OF MONEY recently.

Well people the club have also extended the contracts of major players in our squad, I'm guessing that will include an increase in wages. Not with standing the status quo the club have indirectly moved to protected their investments by extending deals etc. Now I can understand all the miss givings and your apparent anger but the squad ain't bad as it stands.

We seem to be on the Wednesdayite track atm and for me that is a sad state of affairs really for fans and DA.

We are going to have to suck it and see my friends ..................

God I hate this league.

Yes picked a merc up provided by Autoworld at the clubs expense. Guess we're not that skint as first thought,
but maybe he needs it to bring extra business into the club!!!!!
I CAN SEE THE LIGHTS FROM HERE.

if that is true then it is a really bad move, both PR wise and financially

best part of 50k on a new merc

would go a long way towards a decent players yearly wage

if it is true I can only hope the reports of the club being in financial woe are just spin for whatever reason as if we do not strengthen the squad and club employees are seen to be given brand new cars on the club then something is not adding up

Doubt very much it has been purchased.

More likely to be a business lease hire.

Maybe his lease was up? Why should we be bothered about this.

Do we know its a £50k Merc? Could be a circa £400 per month plus vat lease, and maybe subsidised by Autoworld as one of our sponsors. Probably difficult to justify, but hardly a new striker.

because if the club say they have no money for players etc then spend loads on cars for execs people may rightly wonder why!

I don't mind the club being skint and having a plan to sort it, I wouldn't expect any plan to improve the clubs finances to involve buying flash cars for people!

if it is a lease and part of Turner's wages then fair enough

Yeah I reckon this is just one of those coincidental things that happens when things are going wrong. Doubt it's coming directly from the club's finances.

we obviously do not know any of the details (even £400 a week extra would help on the playing budget)

but it wouldn't be the right perception to give fans would it

we have no money but we are funding new mercs!

as said above, a lease deal as part of Turner's wage deal would be fine - spending loads on a new motor wouldn't

in my opinion of course
