Well I now class myself as officially phobia free!!

After having a lifelong fear of spiders (I know, I know) yesterday I finally held in my hand a tarantula.

Snakes are my phobia. I've no idea why.

I've got Duncanaphobia which is the fear of strained neck muscles.
Guess I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue!

Mice terrify me...thank god in today's houses mice are a thing of the past. I'd sooner face a cobra with its hood out than a scurrying mouse!

Just got back from Boston and New England today. Can endorse the food is great - especially the sea food . Husband eat several whole lobsters - looked a bit like that tarantula would if it was boiled. Couldn't face it myself - I like it to look less like the live creature ! Tasted nice as lobster roll though. I know its hypocritical for anyone who isn't veggie , but don't like to look eye to eye with my food. And they are so weird looking

Boston is a cracking city isnt it? Probably a bit warmer just now than when we went in November mind you. We never got round to have a whole lobster but did get through numerous lobster rolls and a couple of pizzas with lobster on. Also ate bowlfuls of clam\seafood chowder!

We had our honeymoon in Las Vegas and whilst over there we'd arranged to meet a couple of friends for a meal which they treated us to at the Imperial Palace high end restaurant . I chose Lobster, I'd never had it before and have never had it since..I really can't understand the clamour for it!

It was very tasty and i enjoyed it on the lobster rolls and pizza but not sure i could be bothered to go through the rigmarole of smashing a full lobster to bits to get at all the meat!

I have tried lobster once it was nice, was it worth the price?(£50 for a meal for 2 in Thailand when the average meal for 2 is a tenner) no.Regarding mice with the right spices and enough of them very tasty cheap meal.

Maybe it's an Asian culinary thing. I had Loster as part of a Fruits de Mer dish I had at a excellent fish restaurant in Sheffield and was largely underwhelmed. I then had some Lobster cooked by a Chinese restaurant where a friend worked and it was incredible.

Whats a loster? :D
When working for Anderson Strathclyde I had to do a few stints abroad 1 of which was to China. I had an interpreter with me when not working. She took me to a Chinese restaurant. Looked at the menu for the things I knew from home to be told inside China none of the Chinese meals we eat do not and never have even existed. Anyway I ended up ordering chicken leg and chips, you can't go wrong with chicken leg and chips. Can you? The chips were quite nice to be honest. However the chicken leg was actually a bowl of boiled chicken claws. Don't get me started on sea cucumber which was a 6" long slug.

I hope Chester isn't reading this - we"ll see even less of him this year if he is !
I loved Boston too Mr M . Seemed a very liveable city. Lobster on the coast was very reasonable, tasted really juicy and sweet - probably because it's so fresh, every other person up there seems to fish lobster. Like parasites. Apparently they used to feed the prisoners on them it was so cheap and available. Used to be able to collect them on the beach.

Make my Proact debut this evening in one of the play on the pitch games as my cricket club has an over 30s v under 30s challenge match for bragging rights! Rather looking forward to it despite having not kicked a ball in well over a year since i packed up playing Sunday mornings. Kit is all packed and ready to go! :D

Just bought myself a shed. Nice tongue & groove painted raspberry and cream. Go well with my pale green painted fence courtesy of cuprinol.
