What sort of result do we think would be best from Taunton?
The greatest miscarriage of justice since my case against the producers of the Never Ending Story

Draw, for me, although there are that many permutations possible, with even the remote possibility of catching Warwickshire. I think a win and a draw should just about see us safe, but would feel a hell of a lot more comfortable if we can take the 32 and BP's.

The weather looks fairly dreadful between now and Saturday so I would have thought all the current matches will end up being draws. This could well help Derbyshire because I would have thought the match against Warwickshire will be a fairly meaningless game for Warwickshire because they will be in the middle of the table by then with very little to play for.

Surrey win looking at the table. Somerset win definitely the worst option of the three.

Radio Sheffield today cracked me up with the "the weather again is going to cost Yorkshire the championship after bad light has kept play to a minimum" then the "Derbyshire have also been hampered by the weather" nothing said about Durham being in that game and hampered or the fact Yorkshire got nearly a full days play

Listened to some play at derby and hove today. The commentators at derby were excellent, both having a right old laugh. Charles Collins is entertaining - mind you the Durham commentator was just as amusing. The ones down South I have heard are o a man dull as dishwater.

He apologised to listeners just before lunch because he was just about to kill the Durham co-commentator (who was taking the mikey out of him being such a scruffy so and so.

Derbyshire lost Madsen early this morning...now 113-2.

Down at Taunton....Surrey 195 all out so no batting bonus points whilst Somerset get 3 bowling pointsbut they've started badly losing Trescothick in the first over, 0-1.

Must look him up.

hmmm 4 wickets for 6 runs.

I was thinking if we could somehow get to max batting points. I think getting 3 has to be the bare minimum as Somerset have recovered.

Its intriguing stuff as Durham must have noted Yorkshire's progress and if we get over 300 this will put some pressure on them this evening.

Then at Taunton we could do with Somerset not reaching 250 for a second batting point.
