I wouldn’t be too sorry to see him go personally.

Ayup pal, hope you’re all well?
Disagree mate, I thought there was a cracking player somewhere there that we saw in brief flashes. I agree he could be frustrating, and wasn’t there a slight rumour that he wanted to return to Arsenal during his time here, but of course could be a rumour! Anyhow it seems that Cook instigated the contact so it seems he’s obviously happy to have him “in the building”, to use football speak. Maybe having a regular club and the undoubted quality we now have here it can focus him on showing his undoubted talent!

He definitely needs to find more consistency. I make that 21 outfield players (assume Connor Cook not in the 22) So say for arguments sake we’re looking at a RB, LB and a centre half, then there’s probably going to be a few out of the door, or not included in the first part of the season.

Just some random thoughts - wonder if some of the fringe players might be ‘cup only’ for the first half of the season, or sent out on loan, eg,,

Drummond
Hobson

Also what’s everyone’s ideas for players who might be on the ‘at risk’ list?

Williams
Palmer
DJ
Jones
Quigley

Could we see a move upwards for some players?

Dobra

On balance, me neither. At times he looked the part, but overall annoyingly inconsistent with a tendency to be too casual. Will be interesting to see how we mould Timmy - not sure we ever really nailed down his best position is in his previous stint.

I hate being negative about our fantastic squad but you're right.
To move forward, we have to evolve, and like King, we have to engage brain and move players on to bring in better.

just heard about akinola, excellent news and a quality player who will add no end. the one year with an option is a shrewd bit of business as well. hopefully can be the legs next to naylor.

Akinola hardly played as one of the holding players last time he was here so tough to see him replacing Oldaker (a player with many more goals and assists seeing as Akinola didn't have any). Akinola seems a cheapish squad player to fill in as needed and decent potential to improve.

Makes you wonder why he decided to go abroad last season and if he was actually offered a contract here?
I trust Cooky (obviously) but I'm not in the camp of thinking he'll walk straight into the first eleven. Not by a long shot.
Life goes on. Whatever happens.

Personally underwhelmed by this one, a player who looked at times promising but on the whole failed to deliver.

I think the Tim Ak is a low risk signing, adds depth, knows the club could develop well under cookie

He's right footed, bud.

I like this. Low risk, 1 year, doubt we'll be chucking much at him in the way of wages. There's definitely a player in there. He can carry the ball, he tackles and harries well, I just wonder where he's earmarked to play. I know he's a CM, but is he good enough to play frequently in that role in L2? Him and Naylor could be tasty, lots of energy and both can defend and get forward.

Enjoying our business so far.

Just made that up in my head then, fair enough. Disregard that part.

Gonna claim he 'has' a left foot then.

Ha!
Meant to type FL Trophy.
It’s the Bristol Street Motors Trophy now. Formerly in recent years, the Checkatrade Trophy, Leasing.com Trophy and Papa Johns Trophy.

A Trophy we should be aiming to win this season, if not its a waste of time actually starting the season..
No point kicking a ball if ya not winning a Trophy...
all we are saying, is give us ...a goal, or 2+

Everyone forgot a how technically gifted oldaker is and that string of games where he got back to back MOM. Yeah he’s inconsistent but he’s still young and loads of potential
