Still think we can sign better than Frecks.

We possibly could but, at the end of the day, we have to be realistic and work within a total squad budget.

Otherwise, we could definitely sign better than every player we have.

I agree to a point about the squad having a crack at L2, but like DW said previously, the manager will be ruthless, he’ll know who’s capable of having a crack at L2 and who maybe will fall short.

And that’s how it should be.

Palmer is a decent centre half but is he good enough for league two 🤔. Banks, on the other hand is. He makes things happen and he isn't frightened of having a pop at goal from a distance. I'd like to see him stay.

Stockport unloaded Palmer when they got promoted and he hasn't got any quicker over the last two seasons. Still a good, experienced CH at National League level, barring the odd mistake, but not at L2 standard now.

Does that tell us anything about Williams and Grimes too? Starting 11 players?

I've no doubt PC will strengthen our playing squad, which is sensible when you move up a step. I do think, however, that many people are overestimating the gap in quality between top NL teams and teams in L2. Wrexham have sailed straight through L2 and up to L1, but last season, on a face to face measure, we were better than them. With a couple of additions, and perhaps a slight adaptation to our style of play, I think we will be challenging at the top end of L2.

Having watched Crewe yesterday I’m cautiously optimistic 🤞

Wouldn’t be shocked to see Banks and Palmer end up at Oldham. Also can see York in for Banks too.

What ever happens Cook will have other targets.
God I hate this league.

That would make sense, the amount of money they’ve thrown at strikers over the last couple of transfer windows!!! I’d have thought he’d want to stay in the EFL now though and if Fleetwood are interested I’d think that’d be surely more likely as he has history there?

If they get him, with the current numbers they have in the striking department they may be considering with the new 5 sub rule of rotating them every 20 minutes or do.

How many have they got disregarding Dallas, because I've lost count. They didn't help much regardless of how many they have. I'm hopeful that they'll spend a few years in the cesspit, then drop down a league.

Wasn't he the first one in the ref's face when King got sent off? 'Orrible little sod. The forrad version of Osborne. He'd have to grow on me if we sign him.

Surely it’s only a matter of time before their stay in the EFL comes to an end. Completely unsustainable without a millionaires (fraudster) investment.

These and Morecambe are my bottom two next campaign.

They should both be safe now then, Gordon.

I genuinely believe that in the theoretical situation that Cook was appointed manager of any L2 club next season, he'd take Grimes with him. Ergo, he'll be the first name on our team sheet again next season. Simply put, Cook thinks Grimes is a very, very, good player.
