I think the match day ticket prices are very reasonable, I expected them to go up by more than a pound given the increase in season ticket prices. From a purely financial viewpoint the season ticket just doesn’t make sense. I would have to attend 20 of the 23 games to make it cheaper than buying on a match by match basis. I already know I won’t be able to attend games for 3 weeks in November (4 Saturdays), so suspect when the fixture list comes out I will be missing at least 2, maybe 3 games.
I am also 65 in a few weeks and not impressed that the cut off for seniors has been raised to 66. I haven’t found any other club in the EFL that has done this.
Difference between the cost of my season ticket and paying game by game works out at about 5 games, i'll miss 3 maybe 4 depending on how fixtures drop but for me its not just the financial side of it. Its a whole lot easier than messing about buying individual tickets for each game especially with the increased crowds making it very difficult to get a seat near my mate who goes with his kids and who i go to games with. The games i miss my ticket generally gets used by one of our other mates and i get a pint in return and its all good. This season was so much easier just knowing my ticket for all the league games is done and dusted even if i was not better off buying a season ticket.
In terms of the raise of age i think there is no set age across the EFL and its set at all manner of different things, Spurs are looking to drop it completely and just have one adult price for all ages i think.
