It's a hopeful would be reporter who is making s*it up.

Cook had the chance to do this on an interview post match vs Solihull ( I think it was on 1866 Sport straight after the match).
It was a passing comment fishing for an answer by the interviewer along the lines of being 'here instead of a club on the south coast' and Cook replied with a slight chuckle at the question 'I have a job to do here, seeing the job through here, making sure we are in a better place' ect ect.

For me, it's a yes or no question. The answer to the question still ligers in the air. Its not like he's fibbed in his answer - the club is in a better place thus seeing the job/task through he was brought in to do already.
Unfortunately, you can't say never in football and when clarity is wanted it seldom happens.
We'll only know he isn't in the frame the minute Plymouth appoint someone else.
