Each SpireLight has the name of someone to be commemorated, usually as we have lost them over the last year. However many names appear each year as family and friends chose this time of year to remember loved ones.
There is no cost to adding a name each year but we do request that, if you can, that you offer a minimum donation of £5. Any profits from this year's efforts will be used to maintain the Memorial Garden and on projects connected to heritage work. Just add the name to your donation.
This year the SpireLights will go out every evening from Monday 18 December. If you want to collect a SpireLight and take it home this can be done after the match on saturday 23 December. SpireLights that remain will glow over the Christmas weekend.
If you want to include a name but arenot able to support us finacially email [email protected]. Cash contibutions can also be brought to the HUB and the Club Superstore.

I didn’t know Ian had died and I’m really saddened. We were in the same year at William Rhodes Infants and Juniors together, than at Chesterfield School (Ian in Lingard House, me in Bradley). Ian was a great footballer and progressed as far as the Spireites Reserves, I recall. Not surprising because his Dad was Stan Machent, I think. He was a really good player for the Town. All the family were very good footballers. Ian always had a twinkle in his eye and excelled at many sports including squash, tennis and golf. He lived at Hady before work took him to the States. RIP mate. Never forgotten.
