Rip Franny,when i worked in a betting shop back in the 90s franny lee,dave mackay ,kenny burns all used to ring in their bets,made his money out of bog roll,never saw him play but he was evidently a great player.

I was at the game at the Baseball ground when he went toe-to-toe with Norman Hunter after they had both been sent off!

If i remember and its a bit vague i think he had a tenner on the fixed odds football,all the others backed horses cant remember him backing his own.

Met him and Mike Summerbee at a funeral. Nice blokes. Scoffed at my CFC tie when I asked how much they would give me for it.

One of the great players of his era. Only one left now of City’s ‘holy trinity’ of Bell, Lee & Summerbee.
By the turn of the 70’s they had replaced Utd’s holy trinity of the previous decade.
