The minute Ward limped off against Port Vale, we knew the cupboard was bare but evidently our target got injured...
Why the hell havn't we got a plan B..?
It seems basic contingency plans are beyond us. Do we deserve to stay up...?

It's almost at the point where ANYONE will do. Who's up front on Wednesday night? At the moment Roy will play Chief (who rarely scores) with either someone wholly unproven (Jackson) or one of two guys he patently doesn't trust to score (Shaw and Larkin).
He's got two days to get someone lively to run around and cause a nuisance. Without a shake up up front I can't see much but a defeat.

Anyhting other than a defeat will be a bonus.
Problem with finding a striker is that if they are any good clubs won't want to release them and if they are kids clubs might not want them involved with a relegation scrap and a crowd that will barrack every mistake etc

"barrack every mistake" thats a little unfair nobody can shout that much lol be honest the fans didnt barrack Ward against portvale when he kept trying. If the fans can see some effort being put in by a player they soon warm to them

I would like to see a new forward in, like everybody else, but failing that I am praying we play Chief and Jackson up front. Whatever anyone says about JJ being easily knocked off the ball, he can't get knocked off if they can't catch him, and it only needs a flick or a lay-off to land in the right place for him to skin the defence. At least with that combination there's a chance of us cutting through and scoring.

It seems Mac had a plan B and a Plan C also but they too became injured.
Just plain unlucky.....
I was wondering - are there no big strikers in the youth team? Raw but keen..

In my eyes Jackson would be the perfect swap for Ward. They are both quick and skillfull and what I have seen of both of them they will make as many chances for themselves as other players will make for them from midfield.
I think bringing JJ in would be like having a new signing and playing upfront with Chief will be just the same as Ward and Chief together until we get another target man upfront.

Then on the wing Bailey?
With Niven back, Picks can return to right back

Thats not a bad idea as Hall and Bailey have been playing well together on the right and Bailey showed against Forest he can put a decent ball in and we know Hall can score from last season.
Who would you have Hall upfront with?

If we're relying on Jamie Jakson, we're seriously doomed. He's nowhere near the standard of Ward, though hopefully in time he might be.
'A perfect swap for Ward?' I accept they're both of a slight build and have a decent turn of pace, but by comparison Jackson is way too raw. We need someone who's a recognised striker (even if we have no other choice but to bring in a highly regarded youngster from a Prem club).
RM will not throw Jackson in, and I'm 100% behind him on that. Now is not the time to be clutching at straws; make no mistake our very future hinges on the manager's next loan recruit - and thats why, when all around him (myself included) are frantically panicking, he's experienced enough to patiently wait for the right man to become available.

Coincidence
as i said previous
the 3 players had the same name
their respective clubs all had the same name
and all had the same injury
nothing to do with us signing anyone just to get the fans hopes up yet again to send them crashing
