Free agent Goalkeeper training with us, assume changed mind in signing him because Fulton has recovered from illness

He's been with us since January. It was never a serious suggestion 😉

I've been told by someone else (not AC) he was under consideration, probably in the event Fulton was recalled or sold by Liverpool

Graham enjoyed reading the article in this weeks print edition of the classic 3-3 draw at Hillsborough in 1980, very memorable, You say no TV footage exists, if that's the case it's been lost or destroyed as I distinctly remember the goals being shown on the regional news the following Monday, Calendar (Yorkshire TV) might be worth an enquiry if you haven't already to them as I'm sure most Spireites would love to see the footage of such a classic game.

I would add my vote to encourage anyone of influence to harangue YTV for anything of the match in the film archives. Like you I seem to recall the goals being shown on the Monday. Easily one of the best five matches I have seen Town play in 56 years of blind faith. And Salmons goal was probably the most satisfying.

Problem is for many years TV companies wiped stored footage of a great many programmes after a few years.

Hence the loss of episodes of stuff like Doctor Who and Dad's Army.

I suspect stuff like locally screened football highlights was probably erased within a couple of years.

Chris Turner says parents have been paid, blasts former staff - but statement doesn't mention unpaid wages

Bump
This article deserves a re-read.
Some action points there that were never followed up.

I think Turner's stance is that he made that statement in good faith before discovering that he had been lied to.
I also see a pre-season tour is planned in collaboration with the new investors.

Here's Ian Evatt being utterly scathing on young players and lack of desire.
