to me its their finest moment. worth checking out the original/alternate versions of the 'covers' on there & also the b-sides of the singles released around that time.
saw them a few times round that time & they were blinding. no stage show just a drum kit, 6 or 7 mics & a few 'disco' lights but when the band came on it was magical.

good starting point would be the best of which you can still get with the live cd second disc.
first cd is red roses which is mainly punked up versions of folk originals.
the third album 'fall from grace with god' is considered their best.
gets patchy after that as macgowan's health/drinking becomes more of a problem.

I'll check them out. It's been a while since I last listened to an album that really knocked me out if you know what I mean. I can see this one becoming a huge favourite.

Bowies The Man Who Sold the World. The 1970 original. The cover is a cartoon. 1971 version has Bowie wearing a dress. The 1972 version is a black and white Ziggy era type of shot. However there was a 4th cover, for the German market. This was a round cover and is the rarest version and the only one I have not got and probably never will get.

Man Who Sold The World one of my favourite songs. Love the guitar on it.

I'm not really a heavy metal fan, just can't seem to click with it, however my dad coerced me into going to see Slipknot in Leeds tonight and I tell you what it was a brilliant performance which I thoroughly enjoyed. Suprised to see a wide variety of people there as well, not just the metalhead type of rocker.

Seen him numerous times over the years, he's brilliant live but much prefer him when he plays as Pryda. Him & Richie Hawtin b2b at Amnesia a few years back was one of the best evenings in my life!

Anything he touches turns to gold IMO, any alias, I like his Cirez D tunes also (didn't even know that was him until my uncle told me a few days ago).

I've never seen him live but definitely on the to do list. I'll be seeing Bicep amongst others in June cos I'm going to Parklife (I associate you with Bicep for some reason). Buzzin to hear Just live.

Bicep are decent live. Saw them in Sheffield at the night kitchen which is one of the seediest coldest dingiest venues I've ever been to (I've been to a fair few) and it just worked. Too many man bags and high top trainers for me these days at festivals. Most folk don't go for the music anymore, it's all about looking good and showing off. That's what makes visiting the Berghain so special, Marcel Dettman going b2b with Ben Klock for 8 hours. Might be a bit of the techno heavy side but research Awakenings festival and the venue Gashouder.

Today I mostly be listening to Bobbie Gentry.

Ode to Billie Joe is the most ballad I know...
