Who do you think I am, mystic meg? Nobody can predict anything yet as the signings have yet to arrive but I'd be disappointed if we didn't at least match last season

You think there's a serious chance of us making the top six?

I can't be sure whether you're taking the mick or you've a love of hard drugs that impairs your thoughts.

There's absolutely no chance barring us signing four or five top notch players to replace those we've lost.

I'll be absolutely delighted to finish 20th and Saunders might yet need credit for getting us as high as that.

Our next signing should be a proven quality player - Jonathon Douglas fits the bill perfectly. A ready made replacement for Ryan in my eyes

Agreed. I'd be happy with him.

You know it's bad when you can't even find any blatantly made up and terrible rumours on the football transfer sites. There must be some rumours out there somewhere

Samaratans will be reporting increased demand with what's going off.

Warfey is quite chilled considering.

In fairness, there was a lot of doom and gloom on here this time last season, and that turned out okay. I have faith in Dave Allen. And the debt should be under 5m now!

I'm going to save most of my judgement until I see the starting line up against Barnsley. Then a rest at the end of August.

I say that, because nothing could have been done about the departures. We had a great season, built up some fantastic players. For Darikwa and Clucas, if fee's are to be believed, and considering their contract situations, we've done brilliant to make nearly 2 million. Ryan had decided to leave for his own reasons, we couldn't change that. Roberts had made a similar decision, so we got a fee and a big wage/contract shifted. I have no issue with any of them.

My issue so far would be on incomings, as with any Spireite. However, we have until the 8th to get a team out.

And even then, it's not the be all and end all. Remember how you felt when you read the lineup for Leyton Orient.. I was almost sick in my mouth. We went on to win that match, with a goal from free agent canon fodder and a previously doubted Mr Doyle.

I won't get on the 'we're probably going down' mind set, until the end of August, if we haven't done much in the market. Because we didn't get Clucas until the deadline, who proved to be a huge part of our team.

Basically, all in all, i'm not overly positive, but i'm also realistic. We've made some money on players that wanted to move on and had an alright pre-season. But the boards ambition and support won't be there for judgement at the end of July, it will be there when we get on the pitch. And i'll be the first to moan if we have no right back or decent centre mid by the time we're competative. But until that point, i'm just gonna wish Tendayi the best, and wait in anticipation for what our response is.

COYB.
Carson Out.

An ever present in Brentford's championship XI. No chance he'd even consider joining us

He may do if we made it financially viable with a two year contract.

When you sell the nucleus of the team has we have then yes its a bit deflating but we knew it was coming and if Dean Saunders doesn't want another relegation on his CV then he wants to get a move on in the transfer market because hes gonna have to earn his wage now.

Everyone thought Southampton would struggle the other year when they sold half the squad. Turns out they did rather well again. No reason we cant

As long as we finish above Burton Alb and they seem to be signing players like there out of fashion. Two more quality loan players from Wolves and Palace is now starting to pain me.
