How would he know that he was about to be offered any other job or even if he applied he would have got it rumour as it he applied for Birmingham and didnt get it. Would he have been high profile enough for any of these jobs the answer is we will never know because he shipped out to Pompey. Please leave the judas stuff out he had run his course and wasnt enjoying his job anymore something that we would all do. Water under the bridge Im more concerned about the goings on now at the club.

He's getting paid a reported 6.5k extra per week.

If/When he does a good job at Portsmouth, his stock rises again and he moves onto more money.

Calling him Judas after everything he's done is not only downright disrespectful, its pretty stupid.

If you think cookie is in getting on for half a million pound a year to manage Pompey you're off your rocker mate

Cook left because we wouldn't match his 2k per week wage demands. It was not complicated - simple matter of cash demands and a better financial offer elsewhere. Money pays mortgages, material wealth etc - being a football manager is a job like any other and better financial terms usually means a worker goes where he/she can get better terms. Simple but true!

Obviously, you have direct access to the club's payroll and minutes of all management meetings.

So, if Cook wasn't earning £100k per annum what was the level of pay he was on after signing his hew contract?

reliably informed the new contract included NO basic pay increase

No idea what he is on at Pompey (figures quoted here seem very silly) - but pretty sure it represents a significant pay rise

Nowhere near. Sheridan was on £120k 3 years ago.

With CFC, PC rose from a pittance - £65k, through a good pay rise last year because CT knew he was on such a low scale that he could be tempted away, to a salary similar to Sheridan.

My guess is £3.5k a week + heavy promotion based bonuses. To be fair, his football achievements warrant that kind of money. His baggage meant that we would never pay it.

Ask your mate, Barrie how much Cook was contributing towards the £1,300 PCM on this place:

The biggest Bonus he was on was for the sale of any Players he brought to the club. He received a £30k Bonus when we sold Doyle.

£1300 a month isn't a massive amount of rent for someone on over a grand a week.

Ah, Norton's old pad. I doubt Barrie knows.

PC would presumably expect a fully funded home near work and vehicle with his package. I'm sure he will have paid the correct amount of income tax on this perk.

I think the decimal points need moving along one. I.e £2k and £1.5k per week

I have no problem with Cook moving to a better paid job. Its L2 but I can see the argument about potential. My issue with Cook is the pretence about loyalty, showing class and respect. He was doing a good job and that was enough. He really didn't need to say some of the things he did. It was shallow.

After Cooky left us for a big club, I really hope he is kicking himself he had waited just à little bit longer! Now that Sheffield, Derby and Real Madrid are looking for new managers the big headed blinder could have had the pick of the litter! Chesterfield 1 Judas Cook 0.

Not a very popular person are you, need to think before you print

Where did you get that from? His new contract gave him more than that as an absolute basic I thought, and he always referred to himself as 'well paid'.

I think your information is wrong.

Where did you get that from? 😂
