He's primarily a left winger that could play in the hole if needed. He's been played up top out of desperation but his finishing is probably the weakest part of his game.

It's an absolute scandal that he's continually left on the bench and it's all because Cox loves his 5-3-2 dinosaur hoofball.

He'd be an excellent signing for any team in league 1.

@mansfieldtownfc they have already got mat green so they can urine off

When did we sign Matt Green? Tools.

Bless them.

Rather than start a new thread, who is the best and worst player we have signed from our near neighbours?

In my memory the best has to be Paul Holland, the worst Wilkinson.

We seem to have a knack of signing players on the back of a good performance against us only for them to turn out dog poo when they join. Wilkinson couldn't hit a cows arrse with a banjo when he joined us, but I remember him playing very well for them.

Just to be a pedant, we didn't sign Wilkinson from Mansfield

My favourite was probably John 'Rhino' Ryan because we signed him about the time I started watching town full time - He was a decent fullback, converted to left midfield - could cross a ball - tried (and mainly) failed to get the crowd chanting 'Rhino'.

Not sure he would have been in the mould of a 'modern' professional footballer though in terms of fitness
If you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything.

Bradley scored a last minute winner vs Northampton then got sent off against the stags.

I like to think Ivan invented what became Dennis Law's (and later Mick Channon's) trademark celebration- one hand in the cuff of a long sleeve, whirring around like a windmill.

Worst signing from Mansfield- (fat) Bill Curry.

It's very rare for a player to be transferred between the 2 clubs. I believe Dave Caldwell was one of them and he did ok for us.

Steve Wiliams was ok.

Didn't James Lomax (Lomas??) go the other way?

I read that we helped Mansfield gain election to the football league, not that they appreciate it.

Think so. Jamie Lomas moved to Mansfield then got injured in front of the away end at Saltergate playing for them and never played again.

Appears all the talk of how much we're paying and how is a little premature....no offer made yet according to Cook.

Peak FM @PeakFM ยท 53s
SPIREITES: Paul Cook says they've spoken to Mansfield about the availability of Sam Clucas. And many other clubs as well. No offer made.
