I first met Mick when he was interviewing me in chesterfield police station. I thought at the time. How can I like the man who has arrested me. But I did and respected him. A lovely guy who I always stopped and had a natter with in years since. I'm gutted to hear of his passing. Rip mick. A true gentleman

Mick was a lovely man and always polite. I first met Mick following town away whilst he was in the police force covering away games.
Got to know him really well over the years, Mick’s wife Linda worked with my mum, and my father in law (Lindave) was one of his best mates.
It’s been so sad to see Mick suffer over the last couple of years.
We have sent the picture that appears on this thread to the club and have requested that they put it on the screen on Tuesday night against Woking in the 68th minute, followed by a minutes applause in memory of Mick a true SPIREITE.
Micks family are attending the game and this will mean a lot to them , and all of his friends.
Can we please spread the word on social media channels.
RIP Mick

No surprise whatsoever that he was clearly so well liked.

A fairly recent one nicked from facebook.
We were at Halifax for the play off win we had a great night. I am on the other side of the photo he had his hand on my shoulder. In latter months he battled and struggled to get to his seat behind Cooky's dug out, but he made it. He never gave up. God Bless Him. Boy I will miss him.
