England For World Cup ?
07 June 2025 - 06:25 PM
1-0 against the team ranked 173rd! Is there still anyone who thinks Tuchel will actually coach England to WIN the World Cup? I'm not going just on that feeble performance, and I made my point before Tuchel took over. Nothing I've seen since he arrived even begins to suggest that Tuchel will get anywhere near Southgate's achievements. No country, including England, is entitled to win the World Cup, but Gareth Southgate had the best go at it since 1966, and I'm afraid it's blindingly obvious that Tuchel will fall short of that level of achievement. -
Late Offside Flagging

Just read that Forest player Awoniyi is having hospital treatment for a serious abdominal injury caused when he collided with a goalpost in the Forest v Leicester game. It's obvious from seeing the highlights, that the serious injury only happened because of the ridiculous length of time the lino took to flag the move offside, with this daft rule about letting play carry on instead of stopping it immediately. It will be interesting to see if this incident causes any action to be taken against linos following such events. -

I've just read the BBC report on Wimbledon 1- 0 Gillingham. According to the reporter, the Wimbledon goal came through their striker knocking the ball in with his arm, unseen by any official. Also, Gillingham were denied a blatant penalty when one of their players was wrestled to the ground in a headlock by a defender. That wasn't spotted by any official either! Cooky would have gone into orbit if that had happened to us! The result moved Wimbledon up to second in the table.
