    Essentially, Boot was the better shot stopper, while they were very similar in passing and coming off their line.

    His view on the article was that some of the stats that were used to judge Boot (clean sheet % and goals against) are impacted by the defence in front of them. A good group of defenders generally leads to fewer goals conceded, which I don’t think you can argue with. He also added that while he finished 17th in save %, he was much higher when you only factored in goalkeepers that played at least 10 games. He was in the top 20% of league 2 keepers, who played at least 10 games, in terms of save %.


    Those stats don't really tell us anything. Do they take into account the level both keepers played at? Perhaps Hemmings faced higher quality xg shots. He was likely playing against better strikers, is that taken into account? Percentage of passes played: what style do St Mirren play? Do we know? Does his manager tell him to launch it?

    Duffy is not on the level of Colclough, even the diminished version we are seeing now. Less skilful, lacks Coco's burst of acceleration and ability to beat a man.
