I'm guessing they'll be on sale sometime next week. If they're not snapped up in a couple of days, I'd be godsmacked. -
Enforcer
05 April 2025 - 05:38 PM
We are clearly missing a midfield enforcer. We lack muscle and aggression in the middle of the park. Tranmere just brushed us off the ball today. I like Metcalf, but he's still a kid. DJ, when he plays gets knocked off the ball too easily. Banksy tries to make his presence felt but he isn't a daunting presence. Physicality ain't Tom Naylor's game. No 1 target for me next season is a Sammy Morsey/Micky Kennedy type who ain't afraid to leave their foot in -
And We Complain!

We complain about the catering on offer at the SMH but that in the away section yesterday was woeful. All I clocked was limp larger, Twix and sausage rolls. Hang yer head in shame Notts. Oh and you lost. -
Nobody Special
26 February 2025 - 01:50 PM
If, as it seems, we're destined to spend another season in Div, I'd be more than a little confident about our chances next year. I've watched us plenty of times this season and in most instances we've been masters of our own downfall. No teams have looked remotely special. OK, Walsall at our place looked decent as did Notts and Wimbledon but Walsall looked bang average when they beat us at their place. Port Vale are just physical, Bradford were very lucky to beat us at Valley Parade. Donny were tonked by us home and away and amongst the other challengers Crewe are yet to face us at home but away.....! Looking at the bottom of Div 1 and top of the National League, I can't see any of those teams presenting us with a stern test. All that said, we are the mighty Spireites and we've shown this season we're pretty good at shooting ourselves in the foot! -
Crowds Next Season
16 February 2025 - 02:18 PM
Our support over the last couple of seasons has been phenomenal. Bathed in the feel-good factor, fans have turned out in their droves home and away.
Despite the fact that we were the bookies' favourite to go straight up this season, I suspect not many of us thought that life would be that simple. That said, I'm sure we all felt we'd do better than we have and believed we would be sitting in a playoff position at this stage of the season. Despite a couple of decent wins, our recent form (particularly away) has been a major disappointment, and confidence of a playoff berth has all but evaporated. The thing that concerns me with what is likely to be a dead-rubber end to the season is that the 2025/26 season ticket sales will drop off pretty dramatically. The crowd base will begin to dwindle, and income streams will be greatly squeezed.
Boy, that result yesterday has really depressed me!
