Most of the rumours have gone along the lines of verbal agreements and so until a contract is signed, a handshake isn’t worth the paper it’s not written on.
If that were the case I would agree but there's many a supposed ITK saying these are done deals. If that truly is the case I don't see what the issue is with announcing that deals have been done, it would only be a positive. -

No need to stress – this quiet period is totally normal. Pretty much every EFL and Premier League club is in the same situation. Deals are happening behind the scenes, even if you’re not seeing big announcements just yet. The slowdown is really just down to a few quirks in the football calendar:
1. Split summer window:
This year’s transfer window is split in two – there was a short one from June 1–10 for the Club World Cup, and then the main one kicks in from June 16 to September 1. Clubs can talk and plan anytime, but they can only officially register players during those windows.
2. Club World Cup mini-window:
FIFA added that early June window just for teams in the Club World Cup so they could tweak their squads. But to stay within the overall 89-day limit for summer transfers, everything else is paused until June 16 – which makes the middle of the month feel like a bit of a “dead zone.”
3. Contracts expire on June 30:
Most player contracts run until June 30, so even if clubs have already agreed on a deal, they usually wait until July 1 to register the player and make it official.
All well and good but other teams are announcing signings, one would have thought at a time when season tickets are being sold that it would make sense to get the proverbial juices flowing with a couple of cheeky signings of intent?
If the deals are done as people say, seems counter productive to not announce them or at least hint at something.
