The funs barely begun yet. Given their momentum, theres every chance they could be middle to bottom end of the division next season

So as it stands and with ? next to those who are negotiating new deals we have:

    Boot
    Donation? Dunkley McFadz? Gordon?
    Naylor Fleck?
    Mandy Dobra Coco
    Grigg

    Subs

    Rinaldo?
    Sheckleford
    Palmer?
    Grimes?
    VDC
    Duffy
    Madden

That's not a bad starting point, bearing in mind May isn't out yet and we havent brought anyone in yet

Regarding Banks and potentially being regarded as a Chesterfield Legend, he's probably not but is one of a very small number of players who have won two titles with the Club and probably are regarded as Legends

    Possibly retiring?

The only way to free up the space in the squad earlier in the season would have meant cancelling Jones' contract. I fully expect his playing contract was cancelled with his agreement and he will have been offered a role within the back room team

Did somebody say he's helping with the academy?

Off at a slight tangent here Ron..........

Their player got booked after 36 minutes for time wasting on Friday, so it seems likely to me that the ref was expecting shenanigans.
Is there an official mechanism for Cooky or somebody to brief the ref beforehand and get things off his chest? The booking had it's desired effect with, from memory, no more than the acceptable time wasting except for the single Simpkin sit down.

It's a different kettle of fish though in fairness, yellows for timewasting like the lad on 36 minutes are pretty common place even early in the game, and whilst it cuts it down for the remainder of the match, there are another 9 players who can take advantage and take the hit with a yellow for delaying taking a throw, or taking a kick (GK included).

When the GK goes down with a supposed injury, the Referee's hand are tied as he cannot fully prove it is a delay tactic. The only way forward is after a 3rd occasion of going down, the Referee suggest that he is not happy to let the Keeper continue to safe guard him, a bit like the concussion subs, it could even be an extra stoppage and extra sub. Just simply on the 3rd occasion down, let him and the physio staff know that if he goes down again, he will need to be removed and replaced by the sub keeper

Bailey Hobson - Hasn't progressed enough
Darren Oldaker - Writing seems to be on the wall that he's on his way out
Ryan Colclough - Either off field issues or simply hasn't coped with the step up to influence game
Mike Jones - Love him but think this last injury has done him for good, expect he'll become part of the #bloatedbackroom
Kane Drummond - Maybe harsh as he was thrown in at the deep end over Christmas and could develop well out on loan, but we haven't got the space in the squad to develop him here
Michael Jacobs - Been pretty anonymous this season, I think he'll be gone
Ryan Boot (GK) - Offer another deal, but he needs better competition for the No 1 spot

    Jamie Grimes
    Tyrone Williams
    Ash Palmer
Kyle McFadzean - These 4 will depend on how confident we are Dunkley returns fully fit and whether Ty plays again, we can't keep them all, and if Chey is coming back, you'd expect only two of them, with another CB on the shortlist. I honestly don't know which ones. Grimes gives balance and 100% commitment but has limitations, Palmer has been performing out of his skin since coming back, but was on the way out earlier in the season. McFadzean looks a fantastic communicator but his age worries me. Though I think Cook signs him for certain and 1 or 2 out of the other 3 depending on Dunkley

    Ollie Banks
John Fleck - With Metcalfe not guaranteed to return, Oldaker on his way, Jones done, it's possibly one or the other here to join Naylor as backup in Midfield, in the hope we bring in the next Morsy and Ryan partnership

Lewis Gordon (+ an option) Take the option

Vontae Daley-Campbell (+ an option) We won't be taking the option

    Liam Jessop
    Ashton Rinaldo (GK)
    Ali Mohiuddin
Connor Cook - I don't think any of these have an impact on squad numbers (Cook?), and unlikely they affect financials too much either

Janoi Donasien - we just haven't seen enough of him
