Not to mention his close range strike versus Bromley in the Wembley reaching play off semi.
One of a number of free kicks that raised us off our seats.
Yes, Oldaker can be legitimately accused of slowing us down, but was an integral part of what we've achieved since Cook offered him that role.
In echo your best wishes...
I liked DJ. He joined us from a NLS side and left a League 2 play off team, and he played most games whilst he was here. Good luck to him. -

Going back to his first spell at the club, I now wonder if I had got Ollie all wrong. I got the impression (without actually knowing anything about him) whether his attitude / ego at times might have got the better of him.
Having watched his podcast with Dave at Legends of The Spire before he came back to the club where I thought he spoke very well and witnessed his contribution here both on and off the pitch over the last three years, I'm certainly appreciative of what he's about as a footballer and as an individual.
I'll be disappointed to see Ollie go and like you, I wouldn't have been in a rush to see him go. I expect there will be a few sad faces in the Banks' household too.
As a club we've spent far too many seasons being desperate to get players out of the club, now we are having to say goodbye to people that we actually think a bit about and have created some great memories with.
The thing he did with the 2 Boreham Wood lads (Not the 92?) was excellent. I've really enjoyed watching him play in both spells and he seems like a decent guy. Speaks well. Obviously bought into Town in a big way. If he's going, the very best to him. -

I like Lewis. However, it's been noticeable since his return from injury that from an attacking perspective, he kills us and last Sunday's game was a prime example. DJ's the same when he starts in midfield.
If the aim next season is high-tempo, attacking football then I struggle to see how Lewis gets a game. We need more from our fullbacks than just being able to defend.
As Dim View says higher up, I am seeing signs of Gordon becoming a scapegoat here. Last Sunday it was his throughball on the edge of the box that set Colclough up for his shot that was tipped over; one of the few times, possibly the only time, that we played an incisive and quick pass forward. Friday he was often high up the pitch and swung in at least one very decent cross. I don't think he's a natural bomber on but I think his failings going forward are being overstated.
I also think in passing that Sparkes is being overrated somewhat, which tends to happen when a player doesn't actually play for a few months. He puts in a nice cross, which we rarely have an end point for. Whoever's fault that might be, if something looks good but doesn't lead to goals, it probably isn't as good as it first appears.
Our template should be the Walsall full backs. I think they are closer to how Cook would like to play than either Gordon or Sparkes.
