Yes…but ONLY until the next time we concede a goal, and then the wheels have come off, we will be relegation fodder and possibly in the NLN in 3 years time 👀😂

Correct. Duffy from what I have seen offers very little.

He must be taking lessons from you!

Bonnis looked bright with some good hold up play, Dibley looked like (dare I say it) a young Sammy mors.... No I can't.

He’s played well today. Admittedly against a dejected button side but given free rein to play across the front behind Bonis has suited him, some very good touches, linked up play and created a couple of decent chances for himself.

I think he’ll be a big player for us this season.

Agree, the link up play second half was a joy to watch,he disappointed at the end of last season but if he can keep that level up this season we have the player we thought we had.

The young lad Elliott up front looked very tidy at times. Worked hard. Handful of very nice touches. Can see why he’s rated highly.

Was he wearing no.41?

Elliott is a very very good prospect, look forward to seeing more of him in the future.
Dibley-Dias is an absolute machine and as long as he doesn’t suffer the injury curse I reckon he’s going to be a big big player for us this season.
Really really enjoyed that especially after the first 20 minutes when I thought we’d get absolutely tonked.
All without Markanday, Mandy and Tanton and also Madden who I rate and don’t want to see leave.

Walked out of the ground tonight thinking, I'm glad I saw that.First half I thought we probably had our stronger 11,on paper,we were competent apart from the couple of fumbles by Boot.My comment was that I hope he is getting it out of his system before the season starts.
Second half flew past with the quality of play I was not expecting tonight, thought it would be a while before they connected like that.
Like a lot there tonight I was giving standing ovations on many occasions in appreciation of the quality of play.
Main positives for me tonight were:
Passes completed, link up play, one touch and movement, finding space, movement off the ball, hunting in packs to win the ball back, chasing lost causes which turn into 'not lost causes',and all this from the second half display.Any trialists in the second half need signing on that display.(I know, I know,OTT but hey we sign managers on after dinner speaking prowess)
Hope this is a sign of the coming season and if it is we are going to be entertained.

So with the court case looming loan aside he's staying?
Unless he faces a custodial sentence and then gets his contract cancelled?
Difficult time for both player and club?

Next season will be over before his court case is heard

There weren’t any trialists in the 2nd half.

Impressed with Dibley today, put himself about, strong in the tackle and passed the ball well.
The pleasing thing for me in the 2nd half was just how positive we were, and less predictable in terms of going backward or sideways. Lots of good interchange and movement and generally forward!

Wasn't 100% sure regarding trialists for second half, thought there may have been two, thanks for the correction. So many new faces to get used to, perhaps not at the right age for so much change.LOL

A bit off at a tangent, but for those that regularly watch Derbyshire CC on the stream will the commentator (Fletch?) who also doubles as some press bod for Burton, finally admit that there are only 2 (EFL) teams in Derbyshire and one ain't Burton?

Derbyshire is Derbyshire
Yorkshire is Yorkshire

Never the twain shall meet.
