Like I've already said .. Senegal can be bothered ( after a 50/60 game season for many of them in the same Premier league) so why can't we be bothered...

At least Tuchel isn't letting me down, I thought it was a bad appointment.. he's done nothing to change my mind so far

Same. Said it at the time. Southgate now looking light years ahead of Tuchel.

Still, another year of Prem football to get under his belt for Howe.

We are awful but we are not playing a pub team. Senegal are well organised, very mobile, accurate with their passing and strong in the tackle. We are none of these. More of a pub team, if you like!

Indeed. Most of their players are at the same level as ours.
But they are less ponderous.

I don't get it.

We'd just reached another major final. Yes there were flaws, but the basic structure was there. It merely needed tweaking.

But Tuchel's almost trying to start from square one.

We seem to be going backwards...

Think the England team coach must be a DeLorean we've gone that far backwards

Absolutely Dire. 2-1 down and take an age to take a free kick

What a way to deflate a positive vibe around the England team. Well played FA

Now thats what I call proper football. Attack attack attack even in injury time, no fannying about back passing or time wasting to run the clock down. Well done Senegal you deserve it. We don't pay good money to watch defensive triangles

Absolute shite against another pub team.

Pub team! They are probably better than anything we'll meet in the WC qualifying stage and possibly knowing our luck the WC group stage. Therein is half the problem

They pressed, we looked bereft.

They won the ball, we looked pedestrian.

They moved the ball, we lacked structure.

Funky formations...why?

No need to re-invent the wheel.

It was embarrassing for the FA not to have produced a coach through any pathway.

Their embarrassment is now being compounded...

It wasn't good, but I'm baffled by the people who're criticising the team for their laboured side to side stuff, and also the brain-dead messing about over the free kick with seconds remaining. You're criticising the same tactics and style we watch every week and applaud. While it produces wins it's fine, but boy, is it dull when it doesn't.
Senegal were so much more exciting than us it wasn't true. Let's hope it's a pointer to the new manager about what's needed for the football of the future.

So lessons from this

Bellingham has to start.

Eze is player.

Walker is done and shouldn’t be part of this squad again.

I guess we should give the manager the benefits of the doubt for looking at options in a friendly but, like Starmer, his honeymoon period over in a very short space of time
A new hope.

I’d just build the team around eze, I actually think he could be the best player we have produced since gascoigne, need a solid defence that remains unchanged we won’t be far away , hiring a kraut is vomit inducing though, our best results are with English mangers incharge
ITS NOT THE WINNING,ITS THE TAKING APART

Bellingham has gone backwards. Playing at RM, he's gained the lazy gene in my opinion.

I nearly fell off the sofa when I saw him there.
The only Walker I want to see is Scottish shortbread.

Is it unpatriotic to say that my interest in England - never very passionate since I grew up - has been zero for years. I didn’t even know they were playing until I heard the result. And then rather than being heartbroken I founded it amusing. However as has been said a meaningless and totally unnecessary friendly when they should be taking a break. Basically they get what they deserve with too much football.

Agree. Very poor. Whilst I think Southgate had run his time, Tuchel wasn’t the man for me.

My prediction: sacked after failing in group stages next year.
