Out of Contract June 2025;
Bailey Hobson
Darren Oldaker
Ryan Colclough
Jamie Grimes
Tyrone Williams
Mike Jones
Ryan Boot (GK)
Ollie Banks
Ash Palmer
Michael Jacobs
Kane Drummond
Connor Cook
Lewis Gordon (+ an option)
Vontae Daley-Campbell (+ an option)
Liam Jessop
Ashton Rinaldo (GK)
Ali Mohiuddin
John Fleck
Janoi Donasien
Kyle McFadzean
I’d expect to see us:
Take the option on Gordon
Offer a year to McFadzean
Offer a year to Palmer or Grimes
Rehab Williams
Fleck is a coin toss. Improved us when he played but looked leggy in the playoffs
Other than that I’m expecting everyone else to leave. Disappointing if we don’t keep Colclough but suspect he’ll he on his way

I’d say extend the young players and get them out on loan.
Boot has done enough this season to be offered another contract. Unless he receives a league 1 deal or if he feels a bit let down with how he’s been handled, I expect him to renew.
Grimes sets the example we want set and always puts everything in to his performances, even when he’s not at the same level ability wise. But he’s not a league 2 player imo.
Oldaker, Palmer, Jacobs are solid back ups, so if we have a bit of depth we can then focus on recruiting starters.
We could do worse at LB than Gordon, although a friend of mine who supports Derby County was less than impressed with him in League 1, so maybe give him a year and see where we are this time next year. It would be even better if we bring back Sparkes, but I’m sure Peterborough would want as much of the £300k (that they paid for him) back as possible.
Fleck and Fadz I’d let go. There legs have gone and slow the game down on the ball, which we need to move on from. Unless we could get them on very cheap wages to make the most of their experience, I’d move on from them.
Connor Cook is basically is box ticking exercise.
Positively, though we have the core of the squad that are capable of competing in League 2, which allows us to focus on bringing in players that could take us forward into League 1 and go from there.
I’d also like us to carry on supporting Williams with his rehab.

He was transfer listed a couple of weeks ago, unless Peterborough have mutually terminated his contract and I've not seen it (which is possible)

Mullin would be great but I don't see us being able to afford him.
Edit: assuming his back is properly fixed of course..

Your friend is correct about Gordon. Not good enough. Sparkes far superior.
