Or, become that player you thought we had signed.

Injury free next season you never know what might happen.

Out of interest, how many goals in how much game time did Paddy score last season?

Paddy Madden scored a goal every 194 minutes he played this season.

Grigg was 1 every 147
Madden 194
Dobra was 3rd on 347

Edit:

For the heck of it the top 5 in the league were:

Danny Johnson- Walsall 77 minutes per goal
Grigg - 147mpg
Mcgoldrick 150mpg
Cheek 152mpg (scored 9 penalties from 10)
Chris Long - Crewe 159mpg

Not saying I want him back or I was against his moving on.
But I do think it shows it’s easier to score in our formation than others.

So, the logic in that is that on a gpg basis Madden was our 2nd most prolific goalscorer.

Take away Cheek’s 10 penalties and from open play he might not be much, or any, better than our Paddy.

So, basically, it comes back to fitness and games played.

Like Grigg, Madden would have scored more if he had remained fit and got the game time which goes with it.

Whether or not that will be the case remains to be seen but in reality it has been his lack of availability which has turned opinion against him.

Disagree. It hasn’t been his lack of availability that shapes opinion. He offered very little, seemed unmotivated and produced nothing of notable quality. It looked like he didn’t fit in, he knew it and so did we. Sometimes moves just don’t work out.

I think with a good pre-season under him Duffy will come up trumps from the wing, I think a lot of the issue has been supply as well as the lack of killer instinct etc.

If we have Madden for another year surely he's going to be 3rd choice behind Grigg and A.N. Other

I’d take the last one what with the price of petrol.

Really underwhelmed with Duffy myself, hope he gets going but I can’t see it, seems to be another nearly player.

My initial impression was that he was a younger & improved version of Colclough. Whilst the first bit remains true, I've come to reconsider the second bit.

I'd say he'll be better than Coco, no knock on Ryan I just feel Duffy's passing / crossing seemed to be better and the goals will come. Like a lot of the younger players, big season coming up

Duffy is not on the level of Colclough, even the diminished version we are seeing now. Less skilful, lacks Coco's burst of acceleration and ability to beat a man.

Colclough all too often gains a yard but chooses the wrong option.

Duffy is more direct - as was Sparkes...

And then boot it out of play or over the top of everybody, his crossing is awful, needs loaning out.
all we are saying, is give us ...a goal, or 2+

As others have said Duffy is faster than Colclough, I’d argue he has better delivery too. However, he isn’t the finished article and hopefully pre season brings about the necessary improvement.
