Apparently, 1 win in last 8 of the season.
Owners acknowledge the challenges he had, but they believe the current team was capable of better and it's his fault.
Seems a bit harsh.....

This is what Paul Cook goes on and on about. Managers need time to build to be successful, don't lose sight though, there are people on this very forum who would be happy to see the back of Paul Cook. The pressure on managers to hit the ground running and be successful with what they inherit is massive. A lot of the pressure is generated by fan bases, we went that way and look where it got us. Having said that, the owner at the time had no clue how to run a club apart from into the ground and his manager sackings fueled by the rage of the fans.
Personally (with hindsight) I would have loved to see how Ian Evatt would have done. But its all water under the bridge now, we have one of the best English managers in the country imho.

The supporters have wanted him out since day one.

I found it quite amusing reading the perspective of both fan bases after this season’s play-offs.
Our fans were full of pride for the club, the players and staff. County’s twitter was full of fans calling for the manager’s head and calling them an embarrassment.

Cook would have won the league with their squad.

I don't think their squad is as good as many make out.

He’s unemployed so I’d guess so from his perspective.
You’d think county will be going all out to bring Williams back

We need Dean Saunders in there until Christmas, leaving them 20 points adrift from safety, when he's headhunted by Mansfield Town who are bottom of league one, I can dream.
