He's been 16m in the job.

Apparently, 1 win in last 8 of the season.
Owners acknowledge the challenges he had, but they believe the current team was capable of better and it's his fault.

Seems a bit harsh.....

This is what Paul Cook goes on and on about. Managers need time to build to be successful, don't lose sight though, there are people on this very forum who would be happy to see the back of Paul Cook. The pressure on managers to hit the ground running and be successful with what they inherit is massive. A lot of the pressure is generated by fan bases, we went that way and look where it got us. Having said that, the owner at the time had no clue how to run a club apart from into the ground and his manager sackings fueled by the rage of the fans.

Personally (with hindsight) I would have loved to see how Ian Evatt would have done. But its all water under the bridge now, we have one of the best English managers in the country imho.

The supporters have wanted him out since day one.

Yeah their supporters turned on him rapid.

I found it quite amusing reading the perspective of both fan bases after this season’s play-offs.

Our fans were full of pride for the club, the players and staff. County’s twitter was full of fans calling for the manager’s head and calling them an embarrassment.

I don't think it's that harsh considering the budget and players at his disposal.

Cook would have won the league with their squad.

I don't think their squad is as good as many make out.
Guess I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue!

Doesn't surprise me. The fans never liked him and they'll look to get the previous manager back I think.

He’s unemployed so I’d guess so from his perspective.

You’d think county will be going all out to bring Williams back

Cook would've won the league with our squad, if they'd not had so many injuries.

Simple question. Would you like Cook sacked!?
Much more difficult question. If so, as it seems you do, who would you replace him with?

Isn’t this an example of the pressure and expectation that spending big money can have? In the championship Hull City sacked their manager last season after finishing 1 place outside the playoffs, then proceeded to be involved in a relegation battle the next season. Some Derby County fans wanted rid of Paul Warne after being promoted from League 1 the other season. I must admit when we were on a bad run this season, I questioned Cook as we were in the bottom half of the table with one of the bigger budgets. Luckily, there’s 46 games that make up a season.

Paul Warne's football was abysmal to watch.

We need Dean Saunders in there until Christmas, leaving them 20 points adrift from safety, when he's headhunted by Mansfield Town who are bottom of league one, I can dream.
