The reason I want Don's up is that Walsall is a lot nearer.

Opposite for me, but also I’d say we have more chance of getting points against the wombles next season.

I want us to go up and anything that makes that easier I’d take right now- and if that means dark arts Walsall go up so be it
A new hope.

I'd be glad to get rid of Walsall, for the simple reason that we can't beat them. Their system renders ours ineffective time and time again, and their manager has simply got our number. Of course, if Cooky brings in players who can sharpen our attacking play, and speed it up, things might work out differently.

He simply has to if we're going to go up a gear. I have absolute faith that he will.

I'll admit, that sometimes this season, the pace we've moved the ball at, has been more Charles Charlie Charles, than full-blooded Klopp, but I'm certain that Paul Cook and his backroom staff, assisted by the Kirk's will put together a squad that will be very competitive, although I really can't see wholesale changes. Those I can see going are Drummond, Oldaker, Jones ( retired), Campbell, Donacien, and maybe Williams, although I would hope he'd be allowed to, hopefully, get his fitness back with the club. Hobson is another one who may be let go too. Others will most certainly be offered deals at other clubs, and we may lose players we'd rather not.
A very interesting summer to come me thinks.

I'm more or less convinced hobson will end up at Barnet. Wouldn't surprise me to see Drummond back at Macc either.

Wonder if matlock might push the boat out (again) for a youth or 2 and maybe even jones on some sort of deal similar to what hollis is on at Tamworth (probably not, just thinking out loud)
Here we go again!

To be honest, I never thought of Mike Jones carrying on in that type of capacity, but he'd probably be perfect as player/ fitness coach. Mike Jones is one of those players, you just wish he could go on forever. 100% player every game, and he's certainly been missed this season.

I didn't mean for them to get any on loan. They aren't around the 1st team (unless we get 15 injuries again) and have had long enough. They need to be searching for a starting place somewhere lower down the pyramid

He's been doing fitness sessions with the first team. Also an incredibly enthusiastic coach. Source: my lad's done a few sessions with him :)

I think his system is absolutely crying out for two fast, tenacious wing/full backs who can get forward but also track back when necessary. It's probably asking too much for him to find a modern day Tendayi Darikwa and Drew Talbot, but a couple of players even half as good would make us miles more effective.

I was told by a very good source that the costs of our loanees to Matlock were met by a 'benefactor' at CFC.

He has the enthusiasm of a teenager, and as you are saying, that he's a decent coach, kids will listen to him and so will those with wisdom teeth. Mike Jones has been one of my favourite players of late.
I hope your lad learns a lot from him.

Maybe some weren't good enough or just permanently injured while they were there?

Duhameau and Wilkinson got a decent crack at the whip the latter leaving Matlock to go to a higher league.

Luke Rawson, Jack Brownell, Ricardo German, Charlie Wakefield, Jake Orrel, Charle Dawes, Jack Broadhead all loaned to Matlock with varying degrees of success. There is another obvious name that escapes me

He wasn't the one I was thinking of but he was at Matlock a fair while. Think they might have signed him after he was released although he may of been on loan the previous season.

Of course there was Jamie Jackson but that is going back a while although he was there more recently as a senior player
