Noting the ‘play per game’ comments on a couple of posts for the likes of Fleck and McFadz. I don’t think players of their standing and record would regard this as a fair reflection of their value, and might even view it as a bit of an insult. They would probably be fairly confident of getting a year elsewhere
If you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything.

I'd say let them find another club then, unless they take very low wages its not worth the risk

Fully agree. Let's hope our Management team don't make the same mistakes as last season in terms of recruitment strategy ie signing old players, past their best and guess what injury prone.

I think the club needs to focus on signing players with resale value. Then supplement them with more experienced players to guide them through a season.

I’m right in saying we have to have a “homegrown” player contracted with us to allow us to have 7 subs in a matchday squad? Which has been Connor Cook?

You've nailed the summer transfer plan of almost every football club in the country.

Thanks. So either we give CC a new contract or make Gunnar Elliott a 1st year pro.

I’m not sure how it works, cos I don’t think Elliott would actually need to be registered would he due to his age? I think it’s safe to say cook will be retained

Gonna be some rate bed wetting on here when this list comes out 😂 Those expecting a mass exodus better get themselves prepared.

Bar some early season poor decision making (which turned about 4 home wins in to draws), an injury crisis that would have decimated the British army and some of the most horrific refereeing decisions we've been on the receiving end of - we've done alright.

We should beable to bring in 4 or 5 higher quality players to start every week and keep the harmony of the existing squad in place.

It would probably be counter active to strip the squad back to nothing and start again anyway
Here we go again!

Pretty must agree with that, there’s need for changes without wholesale changes. BUT…the 4/5 main signings should, I imagine, be coming in with a view to be regular No1s in their position.

Sounds like it's going to be a summer of evolution rather than revolution.

I’ve said all along that it’s not the Cook way to do things to have a mass clear out and sign loads. It was never going to be a case of nearly all of them leaving.

He did do it at Ipswich though, so it’s not unprecedented

Presumably they were all someone else’s signings not his though?

Why do people want a mass exodus anyway?
With this squad of players we’ve literally just had two succesful seasons that included walking the NL & achieving a play off place in L2 despite a horrific injury crisis. Cook has also mentioned countless times how good the dressing room is, so I’m sure he’s in no rush to rip that to pieces.

A much more sensible approach would surely be to move on a number of those out of favour that haven’t featured much at all this year, and bring in 4/5 real quality additions to improve the squad ready for a push for autos next year. I’m sure the retained list will probably reflect this approach.

Exactly.
Good luck trying to recruit a dozen players all better than those folk want released and then getting them to gel for the new season.
