I didn't celebrate it as I noticed the ref but I'm not sure what the foul was. Sparkes should have played. That volley he pinged that smacked their player would have broken the net.

Handball by Metcalfe. It was correctly called, I think the ref was decent overall.

It was a handball when the ball hit Metcalfe before he had his shot. Didn't look entirely nailed on but he didn't kick off about it at all.

Apart from the farce at the end of course.

I wasn’t sure whether he’d given a foul or handball. And Sparkes should have been on At half time.

I thought he was ok, though the booking of Dobra for diving seemed a little harsh.

He wasn't bad. Presumably Dobra deserved his yellow for diving. He didn't even do it very well.

Agree. It looked to me like Dobra just lost his balance rather than trying to dive.

Did he not appeal for a penalty? I can't remember.

Can't comment on the handball but generally did well but was p.. off on 30 minutes when Pepple was bursting through with their man tugging at him for all to see, the ref indicated he was playing advantage (acknowledging a foul) but Pepple lost momentum and balance and the ball went out of play. He should have pulled it back given us a free kick and cautioned. Apart from that he did OK apart from the farce at the end very oldhamesque

Yes, I thought that at the time.

Our fans always amaze me. Against all the odds we got to the play offs. We lost to a side that has been in the autos for most of the season. However to some the season has been a disaster, the manager is rubbish, players a crap. Etc etc. With the injuries what did you really expect? For me it's been a good season back in the league.

Not really. He kind of had a little bit of a half hearted look at the referee but didn’t make a big deal out of it and we know he can make a big deal out of things like that.

I was close to choking my mate out , luckily I sensed something wasn’t right and stopped celebrating before it went too far 😂

..... but he was at fault for their first goal, and you'll see future Captain Dobra giving him a bolloxing for it.

Also, looking at extended highlights, Fadz is very, very influential.

Bump. bump.
(I'm watching the highlights).......
But I think it's Sparkes delivering a great long throw to Palmer for our goal.

I think if the keeper hadn’t come out to cover for Williams struggling to hold onto Pepple’s shirt it would have been a surefire sending off- clean through on goal and being grappled/pulled back.

I’ve watched the highlights now and felt Pepple gave his all and was quite unfortunate with a few decisions as well as slipping in front of goal after really battling his way through - we have no one else who could have done that. He isn’t the finished article but the lad does have something.

One thing, though, which stood out for me is how we allowed them to repeat the break down our left in the first minute resulting in Boot saving and conceding a corner. We got away with it both times but they had a scoring chance in the first minute of both games yet we often take half an hour to muster a shot on target. So, is having the personnel to start matches on the front foot in Cook’s mind? We have been a 2nd half team this season. We need to be a 90 minute team next season.
