County completely dominating possession and getting nothing out of the game. Shows that playoff football is different.

I think Walsall would have preferred Notts as they’d suit their style. From a selfish point of view, hope Wimbledon go up as Walsall are closer and could bring 1000+ to the Technique next season

Wish I put some money on it when I said to my county mate at work last Friday before the first legs it would be a Walsall Wimbledon final.

Would prefer Wimbledon for obvious reasons.

I wonder if Poppy on the BBC website is choking on his/her words.

Laughing at us last night.

Notts County are like the school bully - a bit of a loser in the grand scheme of things.

Laughed at us enough times, but when pushed back hate it and ready to scrawl up their own backsides.

Struggling to see a fan base of oldsters and geeky kids bullying anyone.

Delusionally entitled is probs a better description.

I just hope there's a sell out at Wembley given proceeds are apparently pooled between all the play off sides.

Though I'd guess it'll be swollen by Londoners supporting Wimbledon for sentimental reasons.

And after the twattery witnessed from Walsall I kinda hope they bore their way up, too...

I'm saying he might not be with Walsall next season so defeat to Wimbledon wouldn't affect him so much.

It might affect him if he gets a second yellow for timewasting just before AFCW get their winner. I can hope.

Off at a slight tangent here Ron..........

Their player got booked after 36 minutes for time wasting on Friday, so it seems likely to me that the ref was expecting shenanigans.
Is there an official mechanism for Cooky or somebody to brief the ref beforehand and get things off his chest? The booking had it's desired effect with, from memory, no more than the acceptable time wasting except for the single Simpkin sit down.
Get it on, bang the gong , get it on

I suppose the official mechanism is "knock on the ref's door with a cup of tea..." You'd like to think that the ref got an email from Ref plc telling him to keep an eye on it after the first leg.

EFL mandates that officials introduce themselves to Managers and coaches upon arrival.
Most refs, but not all, will have a pre match brief with the managerial team, usually when team sheets are handed in. This could be a one way or two way brief depending on the ref.

It's a different kettle of fish though in fairness, yellows for timewasting like the lad on 36 minutes are pretty common place even early in the game, and whilst it cuts it down for the remainder of the match, there are another 9 players who can take advantage and take the hit with a yellow for delaying taking a throw, or taking a kick (GK included).

When the GK goes down with a supposed injury, the Referee's hand are tied as he cannot fully prove it is a delay tactic. The only way forward is after a 3rd occasion of going down, the Referee suggest that he is not happy to let the Keeper continue to safe guard him, a bit like the concussion subs, it could even be an extra stoppage and extra sub. Just simply on the 3rd occasion down, let him and the physio staff know that if he goes down again, he will need to be removed and replaced by the sub keeper
