I think his mindset has changed since he came back. From what he's said, he seems to realise that managing elsewhere, you're managing at a club that isn't yours. That you can just get sacked at any point. For the sake of managing maybe one step higher, what's the point, when you could be at a club that you love.

That’s sort of what I’m getting at. He’s 58 so I don’t know how long he’d want to stay in management but really he’s got a job for life here. He could really build something here
A new hope.

He’s looking over his shoulder, he makes robotic subs and we can’t break teams down. We play the same passive boring possession tippy tappy football every match.

He’s on his way upstairs. Best place for him. Can’t believe it.

Anyone listen to Karl Robinson in his post-match interview?

Makes you realise what a pleasure it is to have Cook at the helm.

Whinging, excuses, Carlisle killing the game, all the bad luck they’ve had, accident on the M6 and not a single word of congratulations to us on making the play offs.

Something I’d bet my mortgage on would have been the very first thing to leave Cook’s mouth had we just missed out to Salford.

Form is temporary but class is permanent and Cook has it in spades.

Another manager I would be disappointed to see at Town

Paul Cook is one of the good guys in football. How many other managers would invite any fan into his office for a chat about the club, I'd guess, not many. How many managers would praise the opposition when their own team had come up short, and how many managers could tempt the likes of Will Grigg, Tom Naylor and Michael Jacobs into the National League.
I think it would take a lot to move Cook from the club now, and yes, you're right, his class is measured in buckets. Long may he reign as our manager alongside all the backroom staff with help from Phil and Ash. I love this club, but I love it more under Paul Cook.

Was going to post something similar. No one else to blame for being late than themselves.

Miserable, whiny and lacking any good grace or respect. As a wise man said “at the end of the season you get the league position you deserve….”

Paul Cook is the most successful manager in my time, only John Duncan comes close, but it’s easy to forget John’s football was often boring and despite his winning Division 4 and the cup run which will probably remain our greatest achievement many fans whinged about him. If you wanted to grind out a 1-0 win JD was your man and his sides didn’t usually concede as many goals as PC’s but it was often a hard watch. Cox built probably the best side, but never won anything so it’s difficult to compare. If Cookie can win another promotion and build a side similar to the one he did in his first spell he would be untouchable.

Honourable mention to Nicky Law who also had an excellent side, although tainted by events, and of course Mcguigan for the 1970 team.

Yes, we scraped into the play-offs but the Salford lot need to remember how lucky they were to go away from our ground with a point and how they lost to a better team 4-0 at home.

If the league was decided on our results against Salford we would be placed above them.

Oh! Hang on. That’s how it played out.

Fox was before the play offs as well. Had there been play offs back then who knows? We may well have done up, because make no mistake, he built a top quality side.

The midfield of Salmons, Bonnyman, Wilson and Birch was really something Else.

I think it's a none too subtle dig at the Directors. What kind of club asks it's squad to travel 120 miles for one of the most important games in it's history without an overnight stay?

Potentially. Then pathetic not to front up and sort it pre game. Or set off even earlier.

Yet he did say how the board couldn’t have supported the playing side anymore.

Just sounded whiny, bitter and a bit of a classless m@rd ar$€ to me, as usual.

I'm sure I speak for all Town supporters when I say how devastated I am that Mnoga's day didn't go well.
