Isn’t the Grimsby result irrelevant due to them playing Wimbledon, Ie if we win and Grimsby lose or draw we’d go above them, and if we win and Wimbledon lost to Grimsby we’d go above them.?

We would lose out on GD if Wimbledon lost. Unless we score 3 more than Wimbledon. Thats how I see it.

I thought it was pretty much a case we need to win and Salford need to drop points and we'll be in based on the fact that no matter the result in the Grimsby\Wimbledon game we would go above one of them.

We need Salford not to win.

If they don't win and we do then were in, irrelevant of the Grimsby/Wimbledon result.

However, If Salford lose and we only draw then we need Grimsby to lose.

No because if they lose, their GD would get at least 1 worse and ours would be at least 1 better if we win.

The table I am looking at has Wimbledon on 70 with plus 20 goals. We are on 67 with +18. If Wimbledon lose they will still be on 70 so we would need a better GD to jump above them.

Putting us both on the same points and GD.

If they lose and we win then by virtue of that then our goal differences would be at least level and we have scored more goals, currently 17 more, so would be above them on that basis even if the goal differences end up the same.

Correct

And of course if they lose by more than one, or we win by more than one then were above them on GD anyway.

All we can do is win and hope Salford don't, anything else would be a minor miracle lol

Just keep refreshing Bobs Board during the game, you'll get to know the current state of play as it happens (and before you see it on the stream probably due to the transmission delay).

Wed also need Colchester to not win. They could jump us all if that scenario occurred
Here we go again!

Two ways we get in the play-offs:

1. Win at Accrington and Salford drop points at Carlisle.
2. Draw at Accy and both Grimsby and Salford lose, with Colchester dropping points.

Simples, I think. Maybe brain hurts.

From memory, and correct me if I'm wrong but weren't Grimsby involved when we had our last day glynn Hurst escape? I seem to think there were a few clubs involved that day too

We just need Salford to lose / draw Warfey and us to win - everything else is irrelevant.

Yes, we sent them down.

Apart from the other unlikely way by drawing.

My manager at the time was a Grimsby fan. What a great day that was (even though I was at work - with no signal in the littlewoods basement)
Here we go again!

We only need to win 1-0 and Wimbledon lose 1-0 then we'd go above them on goals scored. Both our goal differences would be +19 in that scenario.
