I thought it was John Holmes; with princess Di in the middle, and Jim Rosenthal on the right..

Are you sure that’s Saltergate? Looking at some of the facial hair on the chaps it might well be a snap from the Kop at Anfield around the early 70s.

Been told it was end of 82/3 season, but have no confidence in that. But looking at the attendances at the back end of that season it could be. When was the terrace concreted?

One thing for certain it was taken before 2.55pm as our group hadn't made it from the pub.

I'm on that! Back row, extreme left with a very fetching jumper on. My dad (bloke with a bald head) to the right. The good old days!

Judging by how old I look, 1982/83 seems about right. Thanks for posting it.

Cheers.

What it does highlight in comparison to today's attendances is the lack of kids.
Long may we progress.

To be fair, it's a very small sample. Young 'uns tended to progress to the back of the Kop over time didn't they?

…and women.

Where abouts on the Kop do you think the photo was taken in relation to the goal.
Like you, we would probably have been in our regular pub, for us the Square and Compass, until 2.58.

Which bit of the Kop are we looking at here? Is the centre of the Kop to the right of the photo?

Foljambe Road in 2 minutes with a belly full ale. Impressive

Guessing it's taken from appx the point the 18 yard box meets the goal line, stand side. Showing were we stood but we aren't there yet. Perhaps Mr Tall or Azuls grandson could help.

It's definitely the very back left hand corner of the kop (looking from the pitch).
