It absolutely wouldn’t

Owners and management have far too much class than to adopt mardarse tactics.

In my opinion it would be nice to see the club complain about the appointment.

There's not a chance Cook would ever initiate something like that is there?

The players need to be thinking only about approaching the game as they did the Carlisle one. At them right from the outset.

If they do that, it won’t matter a jot what the ref does.

*ineptitude

I doubt i will, but it’s still my opinion.
Sadly my English language O level is long since lost its effectiveness, I hope you’ll forgave me.
But *ineptness is a proper word and it’s use above was correct. Feel free to check whatever educational outlet you like. It’s ok I accept your apology and forgive you for trying to be a smart arse, it’s all in good fun.
Slight word of advice my friend, I try not to bring political grievances from the personal section into the football threads and manage to keep both sections separate. I think you’ll find it helps you enjoy the board more.

Fortunately most of us don’t give a toss about your opinion. However, I particularly like when you reply to your own posts.
Plus I don’t need advice from the likes of you on pretty much anything.
So take your self importance elsewhere.

Like I said mate try not to bring your grievances from the personal section onto the football threads, you seem to be struggling with that, but it does spoil it for the other posters.

It’s slightly ironic that you refer to the Carlisle game.

A thread which appears to suggest we are the victims of persistent bias against from the officials, yet in the Carlisle fixture the ref and fourth official worked extremely well together to produce a first half sending off for the visitors, much to the surprise of many in the East stand at the time.

This sending off was accepted, in part, by Hughes in his post match interview but he felt the ref missed a clear red by Ollie Banks which could have altered the course of the game.

Funny how everyone thinks the officials are against them.

Am I the only one not even to think about the ref before a game? Some people like to make a fuss before it’s even started. Yes referees can occasionally cost you a game but if you play well through it shouldn’t make much difference.

Bias on my part as not been implied, unless you take "the magpie" jest out of the intended jokey context. Incompetent, crap and many other similar adjectives have been used though, over the course of 3 years.

The whole point being, why appoint someone that everyone knows as unfortunate history, that his bosses wrote to the club to say mistakes have been made. The only logic (to me anyway) being they are testing him under pressure. Which brings me back to the pen award to Notts, it seemed the actual award of the pen took an age, was he thinking "if I don't give it will it be looked upon as I'm chickening out and making amends for Wembley. F..k it I'll give it" Yeh I know probably a load of b.....ks, but a thought.

To me it's a shocking appointment, they shouldn't be putting an official under pressure with history with a club as some form of a test for his future progress, if it may affect one of the participating clubs. It would have been so easy to appoint someone else, limiting concerns.

Here's hoping he as a good game and can cadge a lift with Cooky on the way home

I, for one,do not think at all about the ref. before a game, unfortunately I do in the majority of games 'think' about them during, and consequently, very much after.IMO it is naive to think that just because you play well an inept ref.cannot take the game away from you.

All the officials can upset the game no matter how good you play. A spurious sending off, an unseen handball leading to a goal or not even giving a free kick when the opposition assault your leading goalscorer leaving his career in ruins.
As for worrying about the officials, well, I don't even bother, as it's a waste of time.
