So what's up with VDC. He played in a reserve game.

Who knows!!!

I know many don't rate him but I'd take a chance on him and free up Mandy if he was fit enough

Correct. Araujo is not a better LB than Gordon so that experiment needs to stop. I hope today also marks the end of the 'Mandy at RB' era. Sent forward second half he was simply superb. He's irreplaceable.

Mandy at right back was more understandable than Araujo at left back.
He’s the only fit right back we have.
He was immense when moved forwards, mind.

Araujo isn’t the only fit left back we have.
Or even a left back.

Fair enough from their manager to be fair and it was a bit lucky the ball came back to Mandy

A lot fairer take on a game than some opposition managers, they should have put the game to bed first half really before our resurgence after the robotic subs 🤣

We don’t know player by player fitness situations do we? Gordon may not be up to more minutes after his injury

Right back is an issue, proper cursed position this year

For what it’s worth the way that Mandeville plays right back was pretty instrumental to us getting back into it. Him pushing up where he does causes an issue with who marks him and gave olakigbe more room to an extent and they were obviously concerned with olakigbe as they ended up doubling up on him during the second half.

I think cook fitted Araujo in last two partly to give us a bit more height in the team. Gordon instead of him and we’re a small side at set pieces.

As for the game as a whole we started ok but sloppy goal then the pen put us up against it. Second half the change by cook to push Mandeville forward basically meant after their third it was all us. Metcalfe was brilliant and showing up a few folk on here that wrote him off. Since coming back from injury he’s been very good, suspect playing alongside fleck has helped him a lot as well.

As for the ref I’m not sure he had a good game. Fell for a lot of their antics, if it was a pen (I was wrong side so couldn’t see it) then fair enough but to then continually ignore their holding and grappling at every corner especially second half was very poor.

Very close run thing but Metcalfe just shades it.

IMO Metcalfe MOTM,run close by Mandy.Contrary to some of our 'only post when we don't win' contingent,Olakigbe gave his all again, speaks volumes he had at least two markers all game, and also contrary, thought the ref. was not as unbiased as he should have been.Lot of baffling decisions around issuing cards seemed to have his hand out before their man hit the ground, foul or no foul. All three CB's carded.
Lino on West Stand once again incompetent, barely up with play throughout, their left back was onside on around two occasions and the ball ended up in their half.
First 35 they where far the better side and didn't need the help of the officials, but they got it anyway.
Grigg with his marker balanced on his head didn't even warrant a card, probably due to my current hate sentence,'contact not sustained long enough to warrant action '.What a cop out statement.

Will'Bonneyman' Grigg once again showed his class throughout.
Baffled by the subs. but what do I know. Was still very concerned to see DJ come on though.
Feel annoyed after coming away from a game like that to once again be overshadowed by the officials performance,so congratulations to PC for not getting a red.
Let's hope the character comes through next week and no thinking we just have to turn up, and see where it gets us.

Whatever the outcome now,it can only be positive after the horrendous injury situation.COYB

Will be surprised in McFadzen gets a deal after today sadly to slow.

Metcalfe seems to release his inner Declan Rice today outstanding.

McFadzen has perhaps played too many games recently after his layoff. Remarkable to me he has looked so effective considering. I would take that into consideration.

Both Fadz and Fleck left for dead too many times for my liking.

Just imagine if Metcalfe was our own home grown player. It’s taken him a half season to find his feet, just got better and better every game since. All set for a great season next one. Except likelyhood is he won’t be here.

He started to even things up a bit later in the game but still wasn't card happy with them as he was with us. ]

Penalty looked more clearcut on the highlights but how the singled that one out from the all-in-wrestling that was taking place before and afterwards is a total mystery. Perhaps because it was away from the general melee but I have seen that stuff scores of times previously and they are just waved away.

He always showed promise when he came on as sub because he moved the ball quickly but seemed a bit lightweight. Hopefully he well go under the radar and we will get him back in some capacity.

What happened to that rumour that we tried to cancel his loan when he was injured only for Cook to play him almost constantly on his return?

There would be six penalties a game if all those were given.
Those in charge of the game have made a right mess of the laws by allowing shoves, pushes and shirt pulls, but not all of them, making differentiations known only to the refs.

Re. Kyle and John, I thought the same. In fairness to Fleck, I thought he played some great balls but we need to introduce both height and mobility into the CM pairing for next season as we do with the CB pairing.

In terms of Jenson, it was obvious from day one that he could play, he just needed the opportunity. He's done very well for us and provided a showcase of exactly what we should be looking for from that role in the future. I think he's under contract until 2026. Let's hope we can have a conversation with Everton about a permanent deal if he doesn't feature in their plans. If he goes back, he goes back a better, more experienced player as did Harry Tyrer, so clubs like Everton should feel comfortable sending their players to us.

Said this after the last home game. Too old. Too slow. Deserves a lot of credit for helping us out and bringing some stability but no way should be given a deal next year.

McFadzean looked his age today but in fairness he's said himself he's nowhere near fully fit.

Fair result over 90 minutes.

Fantastic game of football, brilliant entertainment for about £20!

Compare that to some sterile Premier League matches with tickets costing circa £80 - assuming you can actually get one!

Just seen goal highlights
In the final phase PAlmer found lacking for first and third goals. Second goal very soft penalty to award.
