The average age of the squad will, most likely drop even with Fleck and Macfadzean on the books. I'm not going to try guessing who will go, but several of the older members of the squad will be gone. I'd be no good as a football manager, because I like and rate every one of them on the books.

I think most of us rate them as the squad has been made of players who have given their all for the shirt over the past couple of seasons, totally opposite to the majority of the previous few seasons, but in our hearts we could probably agree on the individuals that should be moved on.That is not to say they will be because as we know the number out of contract is unusually large and could really affect the dressing room camaraderie that PC rightly requires.

For the here and now, these 2 are worth so much to us over the next few weeks, webb aluded to it in his presser that we have players in the squad who are used to big(er) games, it could prove to be a big difference, after that who knows

It's obvious that one or two will be surplus to requirements and let go, while others may turn down contracts for better deals elsewhere, but as you rightly say, Paul Cook will want to keep the vast majority of the squad together for the sake of harmony in the dressing room.

We need more physical presence, height and muscle and energy in midfield. The closest we have to any tenacity is Metcalfe who has improved a lot in recent months with tackling and passing. Naylor has been disappointing in midfield, he has height but lacks energy. Fleck has no height, pace and little power (though he can put in a tackle) but his use of the ball is very good and he can move us forward quickly. I hope he's here next season.
